Quantum 4530-500KV motor...
Hi Long,

Second person wanting to know - Where did you find the Quantum motor? Larry @ HeliDirect hinted at HD carrying Quantum but I can't find any info on the web regarding the bigger motors. Please tell all

Thanks!

It looks like an outrage motor, I really wanted to try one of those. they looked awesome. Short run at Helidirect, saw it there for a shrt while then poof, it was gone. I would hope Quantum motors aren't as pricey as other sililar class motors?
Not everyone has or wants a facebook page, I dont have one.

Thanks for the motor info.
Funguy,

You don't need a Facebook account to view the Quantum motor page. If you copy the entire link as LongVu78 supplied, you'll get a generic Facebook signup page.

Use his whole address link BUT *Don't* include the period at the end of the link. I fixed it here:

http://www.facebook.com/?ref=tn_tnmn#!/quantummotors

That works OK now.

Eventually this link should work too:

http://www.quantummotors.com/

For now it's not functional.

That spec doesn't say much, we need to know what winding, multistrand or single wire, what size wire if single. My bet is multistrand d wind which makes for average performance.Common sense may not be common after all

If you look at the pictures on the Quantum Facebook page you can clearly see the windings are multi-strand.

What picture? Can you post it? I don't do FB or any of those personal info digging/tracking/selling social networks.

The picture posted above by LongVu78 looks like single strand wire. The motor resistance of 0.010mÙ (same as Xera 4530-500) indicates single strand.

That's pretty funny. LOL

Regarding multi-strand vs single, I remember from my HAM radio days that multi-strand wire has lower resistance at higher frequencies.
I wonder if this comes into play here? Could make many assumptions all wrong.

Eh...I think I'm mixing my pictures of motors seen on the web. The Quantum motor(s) on the Facebook page aren't clearly visible as I remembered. Here's a perfect example:

Just curious if you have only run the Pulse 65c's with your setup on the Goblin. Looks like things fit just fine. Try any other lipos? What are you seeing for flight times?

Hmmm, I dont know if i want to spend $300 on a motor that is not proven yet!
Maybe they should run a promotional Sale offer on the motors fisrt so people can test them. I mean I don't want to see pros testing motors, I would never buy that. Only unless my fellow RR pilots and I have tested them, would I try one.

$320!!! No thanks. As funguy said, these are untested by the masses motors for a price that is too close to Xera and Scorpion limited edition motors. I'll pass and let someone else be the early adopter on this one.

Looks a lot like the Xera motor. For that price, I would choose the Xera motor because at least we know it works correctly.Avant RC
