My bung has pretty much always leaked. I'm having very good luck using clear bathroom 100% silicone. Looks way better than blue RTV and seems to work great. Just run a small bead around the bung once everything is together.

This way the silicone does not get between the bung and tank making the bung easily removable.

Teflon pipe tape wrapped around the rubber bung prior to insertion into the tank works. I know as have had the same problem on my x50.
Vaseline in the hole helps as well !

all your ideas will be really useful about this issue, I have the same problem, I've tried to get over it wrapping electrical tape around the rubber, it helps but its difficult to place the rubber back into the tank without moving the tape from its place.

I used heat shrink tubing, used for battery wires. I got some shrink tubing the same size as the OD of the bung, then stretch it to fit over bung and heated it to fit. If you need a tighter fit, just add another one over it.Team JR, Thunder Tiger America, Scorpion, Skookum Robotics, Savox, RC Aerodyne, Sirocco, SpinBlades

Update:
After trying several methods, constantly chasing small leaks, I purchased a new tank (and grommet). After comparing the dimensions of the tank hole, nipple and grommet to the new ones, I concluded that the grommet ID expanded. I ended up just using the new grommet with all others unchanged and its amazing how tight the nipple is now and bone dry after every flight.

It would be nice to track down that size grommet from an outside source, so they can be replaced cheaply and more often.

I have used them in the header tanks (TT) and not had one leak yet!
I just tried one in a X50 tank to be sure it will work and it was not nearly as loose a fit as the original one and not stupid tight!
