Its just the first spool up after you plug in the battery
My 120hv has the weird hesitation at spool up but seems OK in idle 1&2.
They all do it.

Seems to fly OK yes but at some point it can cut out.

Read this
http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=390441&page=4

Especially the posts by Patrick from CC.

They acknowledge the slowdown on the initial spoolup and relate it to the governor in some way.

Here is a cut and paste from what he said there last:
Hey guys,

For version 4.00B --

Wanted to let you know we are aware of the "hiccup" in spool-up and hard starting in certain setups.

There is also a minor issue with datalogging sometimes giving odd "glitchy" results.

We are currently working on the issues, and should have a second release ready in less than two weeks.

Thanx!

Patrick

OK then, almost ALL the firmware updates are beta.

Yes, 3.27 was a beta look at their revision history page.
The last non-beta was 3.0.

My Update,
I have a number of flights on the new 4.0 software on multiple birds. I have experienced the cutout issue during flight twice. I am going back to the 3.28 version to wait for the next update.

Go to the Castle Creations website link that I posted, it has all the revisions, what they changed, and the firmware type. All are beta back to 3.0.

4.0 has some issues and the LVC bug can cause a crash depending on what your doing when it kicks in. Anyone who is aware of the reports of such issues but continues to use the firmware is certainly using at their own risk. CC is aware of the reports so they should at the very least note this on the download page for the firmware.
OK then, almost ALL the firmware updates are beta.
I see 9 final versions so I would not say that almost all are beta. And if they were all beta that would not reflect well on their programmers or their products. However what better way to cover your butt than to release it all beta so if falls under those guidelines.. where the user is using at their own risk.

Last thing I have to say about the subject..

I also experienced mentioned problems with 4.0 on my T600efl with the Ice HV80 v2. First one was during flight on normal mode with 1900 on gov mode 30% tc, I was landing from height so needed to drop the collective, probably throttle went below 30% so gov disengaged but I was surprised motor cut-off and I cannot recover rpm so I was forced to auto. After landing, it went again to initial soft spool up.

Second experience was yesterday, after soft spool up head speed reached 1900 then suddenly motor cut-off. Tried spool up again and no problem afterwards.

I can assure batts are fully charged and my current setting is in insensitive (140A) so I don't think LVC was engaging.

Hope CC can fix it soon.

Ok, I upgraded firmware on my 80HV ICe 2 and my Ice 50. Didn't do anything else, not even end point adjustments. Flew at a fun fly this weekend and had a blast. My 450 and Logo 600's had plenty of power in tick tocks with no bogging. So far I am pleased.
