Yeah, I'm afraid I won't be available for carpooling to IRCHA because I am planning to drive up north to visit family for a few days beforehand. Right now, the plan after that is to arrive in Muncie around noon on Thursday, Aug 1, and then drive back to KC on Sunday morning.

Good to know about the 130X, Selfo. I want to make a decision on Pascal's extra zoom lens first though.

Good deal, Mikah...

Good late afternoon at the field with Darren and Steve. Still a bit windy, but not unmanageable with my 450X.

Tried my TRex 600 again... Still some issues with the ESC. It now initializes, and allows me to take off, however it cuts off after a minute or so. This forced me to perform my first autorotations. Pretty happy as I landed it twice with no damage.

Per Steve's advice, I will check the auto-cut-off voltage... Hopefully this is it.

Anyone planning to go to Minor Park tomorrow?

Yeah, it was a pretty nice day at Minor Park despite the wind. For the record, Steve was out there flying his 130X, inverted even, in 20+mph gusts. Where were the rest of you rotorheads?

Pascal did indeed have some trouble with his ESC, but both his emergency autorotations were executed very nicely! Good job, Pascal! (Although sorry you're having ESC problems.) I think Steve made good point too. Something worth investigating anyway.

Here are some of the photos taken with your 70-200 f4 zoom today (including a few you took, Pascal)... and I have to say that I'm very impressed with that lens. Nice quality glass!

Steve is on my naughty list! He yelled at me for being inverted over the pad. I was at least 6 inches up with my 130. Just joking around! I almost came out but was stuck with the boys while my wife was at a baby shower. I have everything charged and ready for tomorrow. I don't think any rain will come till 3 or 4. Figured I would make the family breakfast and then make my escape.Have fun while it last!

Pascal have your checked your soldering joints? You could have a weak one on either side, battery or motor. It's worst with yours because you have at least four to check on the power.Have fun while it last!

Greetings from some place warm
Hi everyone glad to see some activity at the field as your weather is improving. I'll be back at the end of this month. Meanwhile a little update from my activities here in Florida. First off what do you do when you crash your Logo 1500 miles away from Crashman's Logo parts facility? Well I am able to drive north 30 minutes to the Ready Heli office and pick up the parts. On one Friday I needed a part and Rich brought the part to the field. How about that for customer service almost as good as Crashman!
As you will see in the pictures I have modified my Logo 500 to include a 25mm boom, yellow tail fin and a RC Buddy one piece tail case. It looks real good in the air.
The Palm Beach County Club flys at a County park which includes a 600 foot paved fixt wing field, a dedicated RC Heli field, a dedicated Heli Hover site, an RC boat lake, and two RC Car tracks.
They boast a membership of over 500 flyers and on some of the weekends I think they are all there!
I have been able to fly at the Heli field almost every weekday morning where the sun is to my back just like the Heli field at Stamm Park. All of the fields are bordered by water so if you fly off course your in real trouble and if you wil notice the picture I took of the gator warning sign they are serious. They have a regular visitor the the end of the paved field they have named "Old One Eye Joe" a ten foot guy.

Lots of Logos here and some Goblins, they are really neat and easy to see with the big yellow tails. But I have to admit we have some real talented pilots in the Eagles Club.
Well enjoy the photos and I'll see you all real soon.

I just finished reading "the last chapter of whats the use/ or how to fly Helicopters"
