I am starting to think my issue with the 500 was the speed control. I took apart the motor and gears and all check out OK. No signs of slipping. It would make sense that the controller would be going, after all just three weeks ago the internal bec was giving me problems and I installed the CC20 to fix that.

Have fun while it last!

Flowers
My flowers were delivered today. Anyone got a knife to cut into this box? Last time I cut into a box like this my thumb was sore for a month from 7 stitches.

I safely got the flower box opened without injury and what a disappointment. There weren't any flowers in it at all, just a big a$$ box full of flower parts. You're correct, Darrell, now I have the big task of putting them all together.

Wife saw the ingredients an she does approve. Likes the colors.

Won't be doing much assembly right away, got a daughter to marry off first. May do some minor assembly as time permits until Wednesday.

See you all in a week or so.

Awesome pictures from Saturday
Great heli pictures from Saturday...

Mixed feelings seeing my HK600GT airborne knowing how it ended that day after a receiver battery failure... Thank you all who have helped me pick up the pieces. Thank you Ray for going back to the crash spot and finding my lost receiver.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the Fun Fly on Saturday.

Back from scouts and I got my beastx all programmed and ready to fly. Now all I have to do is button up the wires. At first I didn't get blue on the 6 degree, but I noticed my pitch was not 100% 0. So I adjusted the grips and redid the whole thing. This time 6 degrees got me blue. So I'm stoked! Version 3.0.8 - 6.1 lol!

Have fun while it last!

I just finished reading "the last chapter of whats the use/ or how to fly Helicopters"

Yeah, Selfo, I'm with you on that! Our Fun Fly is coming up in 3 days, but there seems to be a lot of talk about flowers... you'd think we were planning a gardening expo or something.

It looks like the overall weather will be decent this weekend, if a little on the hot side, but the wind speeds may be something to contend with for some. Not perfect, but oh well.

Wind forecast for Saturday
Where do you guys get the forecast for wind speed?

I'm showing forecasts from 5 to 9mph winds on Saturday (between Kansas City, Missouri and the Lee's Summit Airport - lower winds being toward Lee's Summit).

...and the weatherman hasn't been that accurate on weekend forecasts, but then maybe my sources are terrible!

I've found that accuweather.com is usually pretty accurate with thier forecasts.

Here's a link to the Grandview, MO. forecast.

http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/gr...orecast/2107216

Right now, they're calling for 11-18 mph winds on Saturday, and 13-23 mph on Sunday.

But, another site I check is USAirnet.com, which has aviation forecasts, although they only show about 2.5 days out. This link is for Lee's Summit, and they are showing a little slower wind speeds ,compared to Accuweather, for Saturday.

splinterheart there may be a lot of talk about flowers but that may be what it takes to be able to have two great fun filled days of flying.
Or maybe that is what it will take to have a heli to fly.
And Opie flowers won't make you fat.

Going to be a great time this weekend.
