Okay, awkward question time...

Is there anyone here who knows (or remembers) how to set up the 3GX? I got an email from a gentleman who is new to Kansas City, and I think he's also new to the hobby, and he has a 600E Pro DFC that came with the 3GX. Not surprisingly, he's had trouble getting things to work and he would like to know if our club could possibly help him out.

I told him we don't fly 3GX, except for Ed, (unless there's someone else I forgot about who has a 3GX) but as a club, we don't want to turn away anyone who asks for help. That's part of what this club stands for, which is to help others enjoy this hobby! (I also invited him to stop by the field this weekend and introduce himself.)

Anyway, if y'all know a 3GX guru, please let me know!

Thanks!

I have a feeling the only help here will be on which controller to switch to.

Well, I'm sure that will come up, but if the guy is not in a position to buy a new controller (unless someone wants to make him a really good deal on something) then I just want to be sure we exhaust all other resources first. Maybe we can refer him to KC Heli if we have to. Perhaps they have some guys there with 3GX knowledge.

Only person I can think of is Michael from KCheli. I know he don't mess with them anymore, but at one time it was thought he could get any of them in the air.

Have fun while it last!

That was my point...not much help available.

Depends on Michaels memory...hopefully, he's still young enough to have one.

Well Mike, I got an email back from him before I could give him your number and he says that he's open to just getting a different controller. Got something for sale?

How 'bout anyone else? BeastX? V-Bar? IKON perhaps? Someone help save the newbie from his 3GX!

I know a lot will look down on this, but I do have a Turnigy 3D-H I can part with. It is a Beastx clone. (I am stuck on the K-bars) I could give him. Someone just needs to know how to program the older V1 beast. Or I guess I can do it. Anyone that can program a HB800 knows how, but then I go back to Mike S. lol!

Ask how much he wants to spend. I know someone selling vbars but if he wants cheaper there are always microbeast for $100 online.

Hi Guys,
I am looking for a new tail servo for my X5. I noticed they have quit making the BLS251. Is there a Futaba replacement, or is there somthing else out there I should look at.

Mike,

You can still get the servo here. http://www.servocity.com/html/bls-2...ml#.U6txT_ldWtA

Or you may look at this one. http://www.espritmodel.com/mks-bls9...less-servo.aspx

Would be glad to help him if one big junker can't do a meet up with him. I can crash with a 3gx just as well as anyone i know. Michael Sutherlin is always a good bet too for help. Speaking of crashes, i'm just about done rebuilding my 550e. Got one of those nice fusuno canopies like Sean and Roy. Boy, they're bright.

Thanks Pascal! The bottom main shaft bolt on my 550 sheared off or came out will never know for sure, which. One of the Jesus bolts is what many of us call them.

Second time it has happened to me. Last time was on a raptor 50. I think that one backed out. Both hit in some mud at Minor and so relatively light damage.

Interestingly enough, I crashed my 700 the next day out at Longview with Roy and the Boys (that sounds pretty cool now that I think about it). On that one my Dean's plug came undone and I got a blade stop before I knew what happened. I've been able to spin the blades up on several similar blade stops but not this one...

I'm getting some Chaos blades for it as part of my "upgrade" opportunity. They're the Next Big Thing! We'll see how they auto. Also going to swap out the Deans plugs on the 700.

Still toying with the idea of buying another nitro 90 bird also.
