Well my CCpro bec showed up today for the logo. Yes I am home sick Non-lol! Been fighting it since Monday. My standard micro servo for the 130x also showed up. So did my two free shirts both small size for the wife so I am not in trouble for my parts lol!

Raptorman I will take that canopy, but have to wait for next payday. That would be next Friday. So if I goto the Funfly I could get it from you then.

Have fun while it last!

Sad indeed, but I hate the decapitation stuff. The human skin is a lot stronger than you think and our blades are not that sharp.

Just like the story of the 19 year old. Looks from the story that it beat the hell out of his head not neck not decapitation. Just like the other story. I just hate the over use of the "decapitation" because that makes it sound much worse. Did you see the picture of the broken sunglasses next to the piece of blade that spelled out Align.

An object doesn't have to be "sharp" when traveling at those speeds. Our skin may be resilient to a point, but it's a matter of simple physics and the thin, tapered piece of carbon fiber traveling at 200 mph is far stronger than your skin and muscle combined. Period. I know the media likes to sensationalize things most of the time, but I have no doubt that the injury was very bad.

The guy DIED, whether the term "decapitated" is accurate or not is irrelevant.

It's better to overstate the dangers and increase your safety awareness than it is to pretend everything will be fine and lower your guard.

Take this incident as a very sobering reminder that we are not playing with toys here.

In fact, if there's anything I hate about new reports like this is how they refer to it as a "toy chopper". GRRRR! Media idiots!

It's interesting to note that if you derive the angular velocity of the rotors with a 63 inch rotor span (for a 700 Trex) at 2000 rpm, the tips of the blades are traveling at 167.6 meters per second, or 374.9 MPH.

Obviously, I don't know what headspeed he was using, but I just used a number that is average for a 700 class heli, but regardless, I think the numbers speak for themselves in terms of potential destruction.

I wouldn't want to get hit with a wet noodle going 375 MPH, let alone a piece of carbon fiber. Yikes!

A successful flight is nothing more than a series of failed crashes.

Got about two packs in the 130 in the backyard tonight before I had to run in to keep the mosquitoes from sucking all my blood. Did some improvements on the old 450. Parts came in today along with my new swash leveler. The right side was just a mm off, but was enough to make it come closer or farther away when doing summersaults. New thrust bearing tail blade holder, CF tail blades, and a new brighter canopy.

Have fun while it last!
