Thanks
Daryll, thanks for all the buddy box effort you gave me on Saturday. With that experience at hovering nose-in and forward flight, I'm hoping to build some additional experience and finally get my hula hoop off. Without your help, and the help and encouragement of the Eagles club I wouldn't be as far along as I am. Thanks everyone. (and yes, I'll take the hula hoop off when I'm comfortable)

If you experienced guys could fly just a little lower as in picture #8 posted by Raptorman, maybe we could get rid of some of those dandelions on the field.

Micah
I've had the same problem, Micah, so don't feel lonely. I was successful once but don't know what I did differently than the other times. The both of us will probably figure it out one of these days. Thanks for the pictures.

Boy those are some great pictures! look at Sean hanging inverted wow Sean you are getting good. What about Dennis flying nose in, now you are really coming along and I know with more buddy box time with Darrell you will soon be rid of that training gear, way to go Dennis.
I missed so much by having to leave early and I see Mike came out to fly the Hurricane 550. We had a great time with my son Scott and grandsons Ad and Peyton, I had Peyton on the Buddy Box what a great technological improvement. thanks for all the good photos.
I just finished reading "the last chapter of whats the use/ or how to fly Helicopters"

Thanks, Dennis. Glad you enjoyed them! It's a bit of work to get them prepped for posting, but I also did some creative modifications to a few of them this time just to do something different.

I decided to set my camera to capture in both JPG and RAW mode since now I have a proper monitor at home that will let me take advantage of the more flexible RAW image format. The result is better color reproduction and more control over nearly every aspect of the image. (Highlights, shadows, noise reduction, color balance etc.)

The downside is the filesize of RAW format... an 18 megapixel JPG image has a file size of about 8 or 9 MB. But the same photo in RAW format is around 27 or 28 MB! Needless to say, that will add up super-quick on my storage drive.

On the subject of Eagles
In case nobody has seen it yet, I thought this would be something of interest for most everyone here...

http://www.ustream.tv/decoraheagles

It's a live video stream of the Decorah eagles in thier nest as they raise some chicks that hatched just last week. They also have archived footage of events that happened along the way. (Links are on the page below the video.)

Thanks, I was wondering if you'd notice that or not! I figured everyone else in the photo had sunglasses on, so Beckham should have some too.

Here's a version without the sunglasses...
