Big Labor Hits Road Block in Wisconsin

On February 5, 2012, By NRTW Committee Staff

As Big Labor seeks to recall Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, they are running into a big road block that is hindering their efforts — Walker’s reforms are working saving taxpayers millions of dollars.

City Journal looks at the success of the Walker reforms that should be a model for other states looking to balance their budgets: ”The truth, however, is that the reforms not only are saving money already; they’re doing so with little disruption to services. In early August, noticing the trend, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported that Milwaukee would save more in health-care and pension costs than it would lose in state aid, leaving the city $11 million ahead in 2012—despite Mayor Tom Barrett’s prediction in March that Walker’s budget ‘makes our structural deficit explode.’”

That is just one example. Well worth the read.

It's funny how the only unions that are staying in power are the ones that do the jobs that they think can't be moved to China.
Where they go wrong though is that if high costs for labor and regulations drive all of the manufacturing jobs out of the country there won't be a need for their union service and government jobs anymore either!
We all are in competition with the overseas workers and we better get used to it! In fact it is part of the liberal plan of sharing the wealth with the less privileged in the world!

Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about!

Thats what happened to almost the entire steel industry in America.

Union contracts (and government regulations) drove them right out of the USA as non competitive with the world market.

Get big unions and government involved in private enterprise, and jobs disappear in the USA.

Yup, and this administration is doing it with intent and zeal.

Absolutely!!!! Our Presidents have had a "One World Government" mentality after Reagan.

Why do you think "One World Gov" is some how a new idea, The Romans tried to rule the world, Hitler tried to rule world, and countless others between them.

This has been going on for thousands of years.

Just remember -- if the world didn't suck, we would fall off.

BIIIGGG difference between the two. One was world domination. Not even in the same category. Would you like the decisions made about your life, your income, etc. coming from a 3rd world dictator sitting at a conference table with somebody like, ohh, Obama or Hildabeast??? Not me. Sorry.

Lets see, World domination = one government rules the world, one world government = one government rules the world

I fail to see the difference

Really??? You don't see the difference between being overtaken by force and ruled by say, the UN??? No doubt I'd rather live under the UN, but both are hopelessly....well, hopeless. Sorry, but I don't want people like Chavez having ANY input on how I live my life. But then again, I don't like Obama having any input on my life either.
Government itself is a necessary evil, but the larger it gets, the more evil it becomes and one world government would just drag everybody down to the lowest common denominator. If I wanted to live like a Haitian, I'd move to Haiti.

in a manner of speaking, yes. I hear what you're saying and I'm sure we agree that either way is no way to live. I live here because I think it's the best place in the world to live, as flawed at it may be at times. The federal government has just grown way too big and intrusive for my taste.

Yes we agree, the point, is for as long as we have records, there has always been someone that has thought, if he/she could just run the world, then everything would be perfect.

It has never worked.

The definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing over and over, and expecting different results.

Just remember -- if the world didn't suck, we would fall off.

Yes, thats correct.

And it will never get pass our Supreme Court and our Constitution as it stands today.

If the Obummer gets another 4 years, all bets are off.

I really am truly scared of what he will attempt to do if he gets re-elected. Especially if (god forbid) the Dems get back their majorities in both houses. I could honestly see him repealing whatever is necessary to get rid of the presidential term limit and to let us slide under the thumb of the UN more and more..

Absolutely no question in my mind that the Obummer will redouble his efforts of his first 4 years right into the next 4 years if elected again.

No doubt in my mind at all of that.

He will do it with intent and zeal.
