I was a little worried about the few tail rod failures.
So without changing the design, I just opted for a Dubro 4/40 steel rod. This should never break as its 2.4mm thick and not so brittle compared to the original rod which is 2mm. I used the same ball links, just drilled them out to 3/32. I also put less of an angle to the Z bend.
All done and its has no play and is butter smooth.
