I'm going to be getting a new Rave ENV with an OS 105 and trying to decide on a flybarless unit.
I was thinking about the V-Bar or this new Spektrum unit. What do you guys think? I have a Trex 600nitro right now and it has a flybar, so this would be my first flybarless chopper.

Thanks alot, Devon

maidened mine today on my Trex 550 with the new DFC head
it`s my 3rd micro beast and setting up is a breeze. Just follow the manual it`s step by step describing exactly what you need to do and what to take care about.
i`m very happy with the AR7200BX so far.

450wrecker, i`ve got he beast on a scale 3 blade headed Lama, a Vision 90C Nitro and now the combo spektrum beast on the T-Rex 550. all of them flew right away, i was initially worrying about vibrations and drift induced by it, but never had an problems with that, i used a thin double sided tape on the first 2 original micro beasts adn the original gyro tape with the new Spektrum BX and i strap them all down pretty tight and no issues whatsoever.

I have the Beast on my 600 with a AR7000. I have a 700 on it's way and was trying to eliminate the need for a extra receiver, but was unsure about the 7200BX, whether it'll be a good combo or not.

Jr 9503 and AR7200BX
I try to install my new AR7200BX on my G4. My problem is On the 9503 the gain for gyro is on the AUX 2 and the Governor gain is on the gear chan, And in the Ar7200Bx the gyro gain is on the gear.

Does anyone know if it's possible to switch inside the 9503 the gain for gyro and gov.

Trying to set mine up for 5 blade head with phasing in MicroBeast. However, I can't get MicroBeastX settings software to accept the Spectrum AR7200BX.

Anyone had any luck getting into the PC settings with this RxBx?

Please advise how if you do.

Thanks,

ps. Stephen at MicroBeast says
"sorry, I don't know if the 7200BX works with the Microsettings. I'm not involved in this."

Can't be done. If you're wanting to use the Gyro Sense and Governor menus, and the flight mode switch to make them do their thing, the TX software is what decides the Governor will be controlled on Channel 5 and the Gyro on channel 7.

If you didn't intend to use a Governor, I'd recommend you use the Governor channel/menu to control the gyro gain. It can be done. Then you would need to run your Governor using Channel 7 (Gyro Sense menu disabled).

That feature of the AR7200BX seems to make it not as desirable for someone using a 9303/9503 transmitter with the receiver.

This is either an oversight on the Spektrum folks design (turning their back on the JR flyers), or it was a conscious decision (turning their backs on the JR flyers).

------

If you had a JR 11X, this would not present a problem as you can select the output channels for Gyro and Governor gain.

-----

It would be somewhat neat if JR would come up with a software mod for the 9303/9503 to allow the channels for the gyro and governor gain to be reassigned by the user.

I test flew mine last Friday in this:

Original Trex 600E on 12S w/Compass head, Compass motor, HobbyWing 70 amp HV ESC, KBDD EE Lime Green Dampers and EE Tail Blades.

One test hover in the back yard to make sure all was well and then to the field.

The AR7200BX works beautifully-every bit as good as a conventional BeastX with firmware 3.08 and just as good as a V-Bar. Very stable, very positive, good handling and very locked in tail.

I am very pleased with it.

It's been posted before,,, you can't run BeastX software update on the AR7200BX!!!! You will have to wait for software for the AR7200BX!! But the usb setup for the BeastX will work with both I'm told...!

So, if I understand you right I have to wait for Spectrum to supply the software to make PC mods to the AR7200BX programming.

I've sent a request for help to Horizon. Hope they can advise on the software.

Thanks,

RCH has them in stock, horizon, Ready Heli, etc.

this unit flys smoother and it feels more connected than the regular unit & RX combo. the only thing i find unattractive is running a governor with a 9303.

i got mine from Horizon, ordered it Sunday night, got it Wednesday morning, installed it in my Raptor Titan SE and flew it Saturday, took two flights of tweaking to get it dialed in and it's doing great. i've got a GV-1 governor hooked to it with no problems.

There is an issue with esc calibration on the ar7200bx.

Also the ar7200bx comes with version 3.0 which is in fact version 3.08 of the Beastx software. The software version in the ar7200bx refers to Horizons software version. Hence why you cant update to 3.08.
