Looks nice and much cheaper than the futaba 18mz.

Nice, but not even similar to the 18mz. It's cheaper for a reason.

looks more like my 9303's I had - 7 point throttle & pitch curve, ect. with the idea of mixing in additional channels - idea from Futaba 8FG. Definitely not competing with the Futaba M series, more like the 10c and JR X9503 and maybe 11X. I Compare radios in approximately the same price category, not "number of channels".

this is kind of nice
The DX18 is the first Spektrum transmitter with a Dual Diversity antenna. Essentially two antennas in one, it consists of vertical and horizontal arrays mounted perpendicular to each other for superior protection from signal fades. The horizontal array is housed in the durable carrying grip on the back.
