I was reading on the other heli forum that the new MCPX with the V2 board is no good for high performance motor upgrades, mostly because it cannot handle vibration as well as the old V1 boards.

I'm just wondering if anyone can confirm this fact, or if anyone can say they have successfully installed a high performance motor and ESC with total success?

I'd like to upgrade my MCPX, but I have yet find anyone that can say the V2 board is any good for such upgrades.

Sounds like you read the wrong thread........

You can easily adapt a brushless setup to the V2 board.

The V2 board also preforms better than the V1 board also regardless of the vibe level.

wow hobbies has a good selection of plug and fly upgrade kits.

I still have not seen any favorable results or proof that anything more powerful than a C05 motor works well with the V2 board.

Go to the other forum and check out the MCPX brushless upgrade thread, I can't find anyone that recommends the V2 board. Some are saying its a vibration issue, and some are saying possibly firmware.

Why would the HP05 cause more vibration...its just a motor. I will get one to try out on mine soon but the CO5 is more than enough.

What I have found is the stock nonweighted blades are not so good with the brushless setup due the RPM increase.

I currently use KBDD blades OR the stock weighted blades.

like I said, go to the other forum and check out the brushless mod section. That's where all the folks with experience seem to hang out. Loads of great info there. If you try anything larger than the C05 let us know how it works out for sure. Likewise, none of the plug and play stuff is getting good reviews for the larger motors.

PM me the linke your refering too...its a shame that cross fourm knowledge transfer doesnt seem to mesh for business reasons.

In regard to MCPX this fourm is definitally lacking compared to the other...

I guess the saying "cant we all just get along" comes to mindP
