Chucky, This event is only going to be held for the 450 class of machines.

We must keep the playing field level for all. Inviting another class into this event will cause issues with most of the events, one of which is the obstacle course.

Any 450 class machine is eligible. This year we are allowing 325-350 blades and 3S-4S setups. If you got it, bring it!

I just wanted to update everyone on a couple of items.

Sponsors posting has been updated. If you are a manufactuer of a 450 class helicopter and would like to enter your team in this contest, then please let me know so I can add you to the list. The Manufacturers Award given at the end of the contest, is for the pilots who have flown a particular model type (Align, Curtis Youngblood Next D, Compass, KDE, etc) in the contest and have scored the most points from all positions in each of the 6 contests. Any position from first place to last place earns points for your heli manufacturer of choice in this contest.

Remember, 3-D is one of the contests, but you only have to fly 5 of the events and 3-D like the others, is optional.

Also, we might have a revolving fan setup for the obstacle course this year. Something, I have only seen at the Align Taiwan contest. Don't worry, it will only contain two blades and will be fairly easy to maneuver through.

This event is going to be a lot of fun for all. Competing or spectating. If you are considering coming down from out of state, it will definitely be worth it.

Update
I have received some feedback that pilots are concerned that this event is primarly a 450 challenge. That is not true. There will be sites designated for pilots who only want to fly whatever they like and at their leisure throughout the event.

The 450 Challenge is a highlight of the event that pilots can choose to enter, or not. It is completely up to you.

I would like to stress that for those of you who are planning to fly in the 450 challenge, if you could, simply post your name here. This way, I can determine how many balloons, supplies needed for the events.

Thanks and look forward to seeing you there.

Screwed again
Looks like I not going to make this one either. I got Umpiring to do in Alvin on Saturday. Are you going to do as in the past, and split the days for novice and experts?

Try and get your schedule changed Charlie. You do not want to miss this one. This will without a doubt be the biggest one yet.

Several updates to give:

The Novice and Expert classes are being combined into one day (Saturday). We will be going until they finish. This is on account of what we learned in the past and want to accomondate everyone in one day for this contest. Some of the novices that came out on Saturday the last time, even wanted to see the expert class fly which we had on Sunday. They now will have that chance. The fun-fly is on both days and the field will be open Sunday as well for open flying all day.

One thing I'd like to point out about this fields is that it has a "valley" just past the shoulder of the runway. Will make for some interesting 3-D flying routines.

We have added a new obstacle in the course called the "revolving blade". It has been built and is freakin awesome! a belt driven, speed adjustable unit that is pretty easy to fly through...but again, not impossible.

The other obstacles have been freshened up and ready to go again. Going to be lots of fun!

Gates are open at 6:30AM for those who want to arrive early. Free Parking! Even for RV's.

Registration begins at 8AM. The pilots meeting will begin at 9AM to cover everything so please be on time. We will start the 450 Challenge around 9:30AM.

Directions: Here are the GPS Coordinates for the field. 29.542086, -95.837003. The easiest way to get there is:

From Houston
: Take Hwy 59 to Rosenberg to the Bamore Road Exit (One exit past hwy 36). Take a Right on Bamore Rd. Go all the way down Bamore until you deadend into Avenue I (About 3 Miles). Turn Left and get on Spur 529.
Look for the Sign that says "Heli Fun Fly" (just short of one mile) just past the Seabourne Meadows Subdivision. The entrance is a dirt road. You will also see the Fort Bend RC Club signs. Go all the way down and follow around until you get past the berm. You will then see the field.

From Austin/San Antonio: From I-10, you can take the Eagle Lake /Alleyton Exit (I believe it is 103) and go through Eagle Lake, and East Bernard down Hwy 90. When you get into Rosenberg, turn right on Spur 529 and continue to see you the "Heli Fun Fly" sign just past Seabourne Meadows.

I am looking foward to this one guys. Its going to be an absolute blast!

Jimjag, we are not having pre regestration. You can register when you arrive at the field.

Speaking of the field, FBRC has everything you need. Power, restrooms, nice covered pavillions. The entrance to the field is paved gravel so if we get a little wet weather, don't worry about being stuck.
