ive been watching these videos since they came out that year. i still cant believe thats salt water. its just stupid flying (and some crashing) over/in the salt water loosing everything! with fresh water you can salvage most things.

very good videos still

i believe, in real life situation, flying over water is just plain stupid ( unless youre sponsored or rich and do not care about purchasing new electronic). As for salt and fresh water, unless you fly over pure water (H20), the ending result will turn out to be the same.

Most of these guys would prep the heli's for the environment....so seal up the electronics, spray everything down with WD40 [WD stands for Water Disapater [spel?] ] and completely clean after every flight.

We run boats in the salt water....we have raced RC cars in the rain...not saying there isn't potential or that $$$ doesn't help....

You can spray all the WD40 you want. No amount of prep is going to help much when a heli becomes a sub.

True that but fresh water, salt water or beer no matter what your electronics are finished.....

But i would guess that if you retreived the heli fast enough and rinsed it down everything else would survive just fine [yes you'd have to re-grease bearings or change them]

I think its crazy but they all look like they're having a good time.

I would like to be there but wouldn't fly.

It was an awesome video but one thing still scares me. There are a bunch of people in the water to left around the 2 minute mark when the guy is making a landing. I know these guys are pros but it would worry me a bit.
Awesome flying though.

Steve

P.S. I see people at like 2:04-2:08 and like 2:14 standing in the water just to the left.

Depends how fresh the water is, if its extreamly fresh you can run your electronics completely submerged in water. H2O does not conduct electricity.
