Will nitro exhaust oil ruin my Spektrum satellite?
My Spektrum satellite receiver gets coated with oil almost every flight. I mounted it on the port side of the fuselage just above the muffler opening - which may have been a mistake. Now that I'm doing a lot of inverted hovering the oil spray from the exhaust coats the receiver
every flight. I wonder if this is going to ruin the receiver over the long term.

I realize pure oil has a very low dielectric and is non-conductive, but if anyone has any experience I'd appreciate hearing about it.

Powermaster heli fuel with synthetic oil.

Mines upfront and only gets a tiny bit of oil over 3-4 flights. I think I'd move it away from the exhaust to be safe.

Not a good location. They arent really sealed just shielded. If its getting liquid oil on it other than the normal nitro haze you really should move it.

My other satellite is up front, on the opposite side and under the canopy, so it gets little or no oil on it. I thought that putting one on each end would ensure better signal strength - but that logic isn't valid if one satellite is damaged or ruined by buildup.

That would have both satellites on the same side. That's likely not a fatal flaw, but I'll probably move it forward of the main shaft so I'll have a receiver on each side of the fuselage.

Thanks to everyone for all the advice!
