imo save your money, i "upgraded" from G3 (i think) to G6, mainly because G3 wouldn't run on my machine...

i don't see enough improvement to spend 2 bills on G6 if your current version works... i'd rather save the money for a 'real' heli or maybe the new-found real-life sim called mcpX...

Nothing replaces a good sim and sim time to learn. You'd spend a heck of a lot more in parts and stuff.

Life is meaningful flying helis.

^I respectfully disagree flm and WC.. I think G6 has the best feeling physics for helicopters and IMO they finally figured it out or at least it's a lot closer anyway.

For the OP, I think you could run it but on low settings. It's a hungry program and your system would be working hard to try and run it well.

Nothing beats a good SIM, it's an excellent learning tool. I think that helis like the mCPX only extend the learning curve.

Hey don't get me wrong, a sim is great and a valuable tool, all I was saying that the difference between the g3.5 and the g6 doesn't justify spending $200 (again)...

It sounds like the op has g3.5, so why drop an other $200 on fairly small improvements...

No, it sounds like the op DOES NOT have a sim, and would like one.
He said, "I had a Real Flight G3.5 and (it) was fine"

Sounds to me like he needs a sim.

For the OP who has an old laptop, Phoenix might be his only option.. On all LOW graphics settings.
That old thing won't touch Real Flight. It's 6 years old.

I had a Sim Real Flight 3.5 but saw the G6 in action and I liked the grapics and the different things that you can do with it so I had sold my sim a while ago and wanted to get a new one but wanted to make sure my PC can handle the G6.

No, your PC won't handle G6.

Download and run the RealFlight G5 demo and see how it does

I have Phoenix and RF6 both. I like RF6 version better as it feels more realistic IMO. I love their ENV FBL 90.
Phoenix runs well on anything. I'm running RF6 on a P7 gaming desktop. It needs some serious processing to really shine.
Before you invest in version 6 I would make sure your computer can give you the results your looking for.

Sorry guys...I'm using AeroFly 5 (upgraded to 5.5.7...for FREE) on my iMac (two years old). I'm loven it! Graphic are fantastic, feels way better than RF6, zoom is more reallistic, etc.

For me...I like AeroFly 5.
