I just finished building my Vibe 90SG E12, its FBL with a V bar 5.2 I was having a problem with the rods on the push pull linkages from the servo to the arms. Under hard movements one would bend (usually the lower).Im running the JR8717HV and they had a lot of torque. So I bought hallow carbon tube and made covers for the linkages and fitted it so they were snug in-between the ball links like they are on my 700e F3C. After I was done I liked how they looked and they are MUCH stiffer than just the rod so I did the rest of the linkages also the ones from the arms up to the swash and then the 4 pitch linkages on the head itself(which align didnt do on the 700e) so now I'm a little worried if they were supposed to have some flex and could pop off easier now with the stiffer linkages. Anybody tried this? Is it a bad idea? They look very good.

Hi,

That is basically masking the real issue. The linkages should not bend. Try adjusting the ball link lengths, your servo travel, etc... to get rid of the bending and binding. Then if you like, add the tubes to make it look cool.

Hope this helps.

G

These rods bend on mine as well.

There is NO binding.

It's not a bad bend, more like deflection causes a slight curvature in the overall rod length.

Mine were bending fairly badly. I did find that the arm that goes up to the swash was actually the rod so I used washers to move the links out a little so it clears the arm. And now with the carbon covers there's no bending or flexing which I think should make for a more precise flight. I'm gonna fly it with them and see how it does.
