Arrived at the Saturday flying field to find this fine example parked up for the weekend
Looked good in the sunlight
Managed a stills photo shoot, and took a short video

Is Trinity House the lighthouse/maritime safety outfit? Is it analogous to the US Coast Guard? What an awesome machine!

The MD 902.....
Christopher J, Thanks for the classifications, certainly a stunning machine
Yet to see it flying, but now the local Airport has closed, it will be a regular visitor, when it is servicing the offshore lighthouses
Jockobadger, Trinity House is the lighthouse service, not sure about the safety aspect, although there is a police involvment
Air Sea Rescue, is carried out by the Royal Air Force
I supose all the services combine in time of need
The heli port has been functunal for a number of years, local pilots useing the limited services provided
Some commercial companies, have been useing the facilities, but now the local airport has closed, I expect a greater number to use this heli port as a satilite convienience
So the oportunity for unlimited photo shoots, with permission of course, should swell my collection of existing shoots

always a nice surprise to see a fullsize machine parked when and where y ou dont expect it. since out flying site here at rucker is an actual stagefield for the army helicopters in training, a "PL" (precautionary landing) isnt unusual when we first show up on saturday morning to fly although we are restricted from flying til its removed but we enjoy geting up close and even better when the mx pilots come to fly it out.
last time it was a longbow and the crew gave us quite a show before leaving

This has turned out to be a cool thread! I like the MD 902 the best so far. What a great model that would make.

EC135
Got a call from Chopper Jockey, to say there was an EC135, on the heli pad
As I am building the Vario 1/4 scale, turbine 135, thought it would be an ideal time to photo shoot a new livery
Took a load of photo's and a lengthy video
This is the first time I have been this close to the 135, it really is a large helicopter, also opened my eyes to how the livery is applied, some thing I can reproduce with ease
This is one of 4 in this new livery

Refuelling stop
The Police use Chopper Jockey's as a satalite station, lucky to be there when they dropped in for fuel
Got permission, so another shoot for my archives
