How much run-out is normal for a Sullivan 6mm starter wand? Just bought this and it must have .100 T.I.R. at the tip when rotating it in the one way bearing. I don't want to try straightening it for fear of breaking it.

Dan,

I realize it's a little late for a reply to your question as you may have alreadt taken care of the problem. I have never owned a Sullivan starter probe but I can tell you if I did it better not have much more run out then .005 or .010 thousands of a inch. If I remember correctly the Sullivan starter probes are very expensive and should be of the best quality. If not I would send it back. Chances are you will find the run out is in the ball driver shaft & not the spindle.

Sullivan did replace the entire unit, no problem.
