Well that all depends on what you want to do with that large heli?

Scale flying? SPort flying? AP work? Then by all means go gas.
Hard on the deck 3-D with overpowered unboggable setup? Then electric with the short flying time is in order.

How is this "brainwashing"? It is the end users decision.
Manufacturers are offering quite a few options these days in "N" "E" and gas models.

The "reason" electric models were limited to small sizes in the past was due to the cost and avaliablity of batteries, power systems and chargers. The HUGE advancements in all of those factors has allowed large madels o be way more practical.

I would love to know your opinion on FBL...

They are going to keep making as long as people buy . I don't care what people fly or how they fly it's a hobby and I have enough know it alls at work . I like to fly with a lot of people and have fun learning or teaching new tricks pushing to next level.

I stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)

My 90E is awsome!

But I love flying my 450. I have enough spares to build a couple helis and didn't have to empty my bank acount.

With it being winter here it is easy to carry a 450 and a few packs in my pockets down to the park, a block away and fly. The 90E would be a pain to do that plus the park is to small for a 90.

The power of electric also has made the nitro industry step up and build engines that the nitro guys have wanted for a while. The ones with gobbs of power.

I would have to say the large powerful electric helis have brought a new breathe to the hobby for both electric and nitro guys.

Power demands are now being answered.

Friends don't encourage friends to fly helis! It can cause part shortages.

I just did an indoor aerial shoot in a museum today with a 700-sized electric. And I was 3D flying the same heli at the local field yesterday. Totally thrilled with the results.

Going gas, nitro or smaller would not have worked.

sorry ,i am a little pissed
all valid points, but living in winter country, indoor flying typically requires smaller electrics, and to tell you the truth,450,500 size are the heli of choice here and can be more fun to fly than a larger heli....it is not all about power as seem to be the selling point that alot of newbies are being pushed toward these days...and who wants a 5 minute flight anyway??

and
drunk,no,pissed,yes....why ,i am speaking the truth...newbies are being pushed into expensive large "powerfull" electrics all the time. the smaller electric helis have more place than the 600 plus power house helis.,especially in areas of the country where flying is limited by cold months of snow. ALSO,take a newbie who spends his wad...crashes and must leave the hobby as it costs too much to stay in it. small electrics are a great choice here.and align parts, how affordable can you be....point,the reason for there popularity...affordable and better than descent quality
