Hello, I will converting a T-Rex 700 over to a gasser platform. What is everybodies suggestion on a flybarless system. I was going to do a BeastX and I also heard the V-Bar was excellent as well. What is everyones thoughts on which system and why? Thanks!

They will all work. I decided to put a CGY 750 in my Radikal, just due to their extreme vibration resistance and that with all of my previous gasser experience I always found the GV1 to be the best on a gasser.

I know a lot of guys use the Beast on gassers and love it, and of course the vBar (my overall favorite FBL unit). I just think that the characteristics of the 750 make it the best suited to the gasser environment.

VBar works Great for me.
I have VBar on my HWC conversion of a Trex 700 and it has been superb. The Gov function also works very well with both my Banson and TRM VX231. Even the "dreaded" engine breakin was flawless on the VBar.
But other brands work well too.

Just my experience and preference.

I have now tried BeastX, Vbar, SK720 and HC3-SX on my gasser.

HC wins by a big margin.

Yes I know others who have had excellent performance from HC on many gassers.

The others work, the HC just works better.

I wish the HC3-SX was more affordable and took customers suggestion to improve the instructions. I am convinced they could sell a lot more.

I don't own any FBL system as of yet but the HC comes with the bailout feature which I would like to have. I have seen it in action and it is a must have at least for me. If it saved the heli even once it would have payed for itself I would imagine. Does any other system have this feature?

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

Skookum SK720 does, but it is way too sensitive to vibration rendering this feature useless on gassers and many nitros.

I think you will find the "major players" will work just fine on a Gas helicopter.

BeastX is the most affordable. Easy to setup.

V-Bar and Futaba offers a little more features for the extra money.. namely an integrated gov.

Helicommand again offers something extra for their money... namely the rescue option.

As to feel and flight characteristics. I have flown an number of these things on a number of different helis now. You can tweak any of them to fly how you want them to. There is more to the FBL experience than just the controller unit as well. Blades, servos and setup play a very important part in the final product, sometimes more so than the control unit.

So it comes down to what features you and if you are willing to pay for them for the most part.

I just installed a helicommand on my new gasser after great success with them on my electric and nitro machines. Fantastic units.

Enjoy things that money can buy IF you don't lose the things money can't buy.

Thank you all for the info! I think I'll go with either the VBAR or the HC3-CX. I guess when you are spending that much the two of them really aren't that far apart on price. I got the heli now so now I also need to figure which gasser conversion I am going to do.

Nope. It's just a FBL unit. Bailout would be nice, and if it saved you 1 crash it would cover the cost of the HC3-SX over a vbar.
