Having converted to the FB to the FBL unit on the T-Rex 700e, I noticed in the maunal it says to use M3x4 balls instead of M3X3.5 balls for the Radius Arm. It seems the balls stick out a little farther. In converting to the FBL system, I did not change the balls, just changed the head. Is this important to change?

It also indicates to use the new main shaft. Is this neccesary?

It depends. If you're using the fb head or a fbl head. Generally, if you're getting adequate throws for your fbl system you should be fine. By throws I mean zero pitch at center and sufficient cyclic and collective movement. Shorter linkballs tend to be similar in effect to shorter servo arms but only with regard to cyclic. It is very possible to have too much throw. That's where servo arms, link alls and linkage positions come into play. But that varies by fbl system.
