I am shipping several large plank kits (and one heli) across country. Which of the common shippers offers the most favorable rates along with decent service? I usually use FedEx ground as they have an office near my home but as boxes get larger the rates really go up. Any suggestions welcome.

I saw some post in a gliders forum (I'm pretty sure it's here somewhere http://www.rcaerotowing.com/forum/forum.php)that they use something called unishippers or something like that...
And those are pretty big boxes.

Thanks for the responses ...keep em coming! Anybody know how Greyhound rates compare to the other shippers? I have received Greyhound shipments before but had to pick up the package at the depot. Not a big problem for me but I don't know how convenient that would be for the person receiving my package. A question that should be asked I guess.

GO GREYHOUND....or trailways etc.

i have received two scale helis and one large gasser plane that way....great way to go.they take huge boxes, but check with them as they must fit in the storage area,so naturally height is a must...but my crates were all HUGE.

IF I AIN'T FLYIN' - I'M PROBABLY BUYIN'

USPS = If it fits, it ships.
GREYHOUND = If it drives, it arrives.

Yes...I'm bored.
