Is there a scale kit that will look like the MASH helicopter that will fit my 500 bird? I really like the movie series and would love to have 1 in my hanger!

MASH heli
Hey there mr. Farmer brown, just want to suggest you
May look at Heliword website they have scale kit
Of bell 47 but is for 30. Size century hawk or raven
And you'll end up do a lot of modification, this kit
Applies on shaft driven tail .Everything is possible
If you can do it. I made a lot of mod's on my scale
Heli everything works out (except this I don't have
This type of scale heli). But if I do I can do it.
Also basically 500 size electric ,is almost same as
30 size nitro .I had 30 size nitro converted into
Electric and I had 500 size electric motor and esc's
On it works well.Since bell 47 are tubes and frame
This thing might work for you.Good Luck.

A 500 sized heli is "not about the same size" as a 30-sized nitro. 500's swing 425 mm blades, 30 nitros around 550 mm. The boom is too short, the whole package is too small to be in the same size class as a 30-nitro. Many 30 sized nitro helis with not a lot of modification, can easily be stretched to a 50 size. You really can't go there with a 500.

A 550 heli is very close to being the same size as a 30-sized nitro. Frame size, boom size, blade size.

Mash helicopter for my 500 heli?
I can upgrade my heli to a 550 with a motor. Or even use a 600 motor. My Gaui 425 has full size Hitec servo's on cyclic and S9254 on tail, CC Phoenix Ice 75 ESC. So I'm not worried about not being enough for it. And the lit I'm looking to do has the shaft drive and all the tubing like rotorbrain said.

I really want as scale as possible!

There isn't a lot of Bell-47 heli action out there as far as ready-built kits go.

If you really want a Bell-47 to build around a 500-sized heli, you're pretty much going to be on your own. Might be time to brush up on your brazing and soldering skills. It could be a very interesting build, too.

Or adapt a Century Bell-47...

That would probably be the best and easiest route to take,to adapt the Century CH-47.

IMHO, if you plan to adapt the Century Bell 47 fuse, you are better off just spending the extra cash on a set of century scale mechs for that fuse and transfer over your electronics from the other mechs. The scale mechs set are cheap and come with everything you need for a bolt in install. They also have an e-power conversion kit for clutch or direct drive and multi blade rotor head options.

Mash helicopter for my 500 heli?
Is there a 30 size kit? Or can my CC Phoenix Ice 75 handle a 600 motor? I know my servo's will work and I am using a Futaba 520 gyro. Thought about doing FBL to get more realistic.

Will the 75 amp Ice handle 6S lipo? I prefer a bit of headroom with castle esc's, but a 75 amp esc should be ok for putting around in a small scaler. When it comes to scalers the 50 size bell 47 is a very light airframe. Another plus with the century scale mechs is the direct to swash ccpm kit. It does away with the forward servo tray, leaving more room for cocpit details. There is a full build thread in here regarding this specific heli/mechs set.

Can't blame you for trying to save cash and utilize gear that you already own, but sometimes it's just a lot less headache to build something that already has an established kit. Here's the link to the Century Bell 47G build.

Barry is right about all of that i.e. the Century mechs, the CCPM kit, etc. I built the Century Bell 47 last year and it was enjoyable, went together pretty well and it flys great. The only real mod I had to do was make some cutouts in the tanks to get around the servos. A couple of other guys here warned me about that. No problem.

Century Bell 47 III, RCA,700 UH-1N, Hirobo Lama, Logo 500, Logo 400, Trex 550e, HC3SX, Kontronic
