I have a NiMh pack on my Raptor with a standard switch and I rarely take my canopy off. On my 700N I am running a Life pack direct to the high power leads on an AR7100. I have to pull my canopy off to plug it in every time I prep to fly and land. Is there a way to wire in a switch for this set up? I am tired of pulling my canopy so much. Even with Booya mounts it's a pain.

You can use the soft switch that comes with the receiver.

7100 has a soft switch built in.
Bottom left port as I recall, If you put a bind plug in, receiver shuts down. You can run a servo extension to the rear somewhere, then just install a bind plug in it to shut down.

For other applications I use the failsafe switch from Perfect Regulators. Great stuff, and a great company to work with.

I figured out how to shut it down but when I pull the bind plug back out the satellite and rx orange lights start flashing like it's trying to bind. Only way to get it back to normal is shut everything back down completely and power it back up. Guessing I'm screwing it up somehow just don't know how.

My AR7100R has a power switch port on the RX

And the link to the Horizon Hobbies site shows the soft power switch as an option.http://www.horizonhobby.com/product...eiver-SPMAR7100

if you cycle the receiver power without cycling transmitter, the receiver sats should flash.

Oh thanks...Duh I was sitting there pulling the plug in and out with the radio on not even thinking about a normal power up/down sequence. I got it to work fine on the bench tonite. I did notice that after the power down my throttle servo was buzzing a little bit. Is this normal on a soft switch? I know it still draws some power but want to make sure that when I'm at the field BSing I'm not totally killing my battery. I have a 3800Mah Life pack that'll run for days but I've stuffed a heli due to a rx pack before and never want to do that again.

I use a hd jr switch and open it and re-solder so it will break power completely .Some times depending on electronics down line the power back feeds to keep soft switch powered .

I stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)
