Does anyone else think that 2012 might be a good year for the economy because the government (Obama) will be too busy running for re-election to interfere with buisness?
It makes sense to me that if the government is paralized by election year fighting the private sector just might have a chance to create some jobs.

What do you all think?

I would say that it would have been easier for Obama to just pile up all our tax dollars and light it on fire than to have wasted it on all his green energy initiatives... but then I remember the Chevy Volt and realize he already had that covered.

nuff said.

yes. I have so much work on my plate right now. If all my work gets signed, I will have the best month of my entire life. If 1/2 of these jobs sign, it will be the best month in almost 6 years. I've got 15 grand on my plate for this month. I've had YEARS I didn't make that. You are spot on with your hypothetical.

yes 2012 is going to be a good year for economy especially in florida, texas, north dakota, new jersey and ohio. This is based on commercial insurance company financial data. Small business insurers are seeing record growth in those states. Which usually means a healthy economy. In fact most states are seeing good growth its just the ones mentioned above are growing 30% Year over year which is really good. down side is Obama will easily get re elected since things are getting better.

a lot of manufacturing is supposed to head back west as well this year, as china wages rise, and a scarcity of workers on the coast, force companies to setup furthur inland, raising costs. Chinas demogrphic dividend is petering out

as you said 1800. Obama will get the credit. The economy is cyclical and any half smart person knows this. This uptick we're seeing should've happened 2 years ago or so. We're going to get better in spite of Obama.

We're not going to get over the Dem's destruction of the housing and banking parts of the economy any time soon but other segments are comming around.
If Obama sees this he will probably try to cut it off like he did the pipeline! Even though he really only did that for Buffet's train buisness.

another reason why things are getting better is because the private sector, the do-ers, the people that make it possible for for public employees to have great salary and benefits always find a way to make things work. That's why they are in the private sector. The left's policies of attacking rich people and stealing their money to give it to lazy people are not good for the economy but people forget for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. So for all the destructive legislation that gets signed (and most anything that gets signed is bad for business in some way) the private sector responds to that they just don't sit back and take it. It may take awhile but they will figure it out. That's why companies are doing so well right now, they have figured out a way to not only survive in this climate but how to strive and achieve results. Because in the private sector (at a good company) it not acceptable to just do as good as last year, you have to exceed last years results thus you work hard to find a way.

There are some aspects of our economy that are getting better.

But, with the debt we have, out of control spending, foreclosures, and the potential for some very serious inflation looming on the horizon, I just don't see a banner year in 2012 with Washington DC constantly kicking the can down the road and making things worse.

It might be enough to give the Obummer a bump in the polls though.

Will it be enough?

I hope not.

I think that what I last posted is more than a good enough reason to expect a change of Pres. next year. People are getting really tired of paying more and more for the necessities of life just because Obama wants to follow a make believe Climate change scam and give all new energy business to scam green companies and his billionaire oil baron backers.
He has doubled the cost of gas and many other things like food have risen greatly because of his stupid policies just so he can get support from George Soros and that dictator from Venezuela.
As far a I am concerned Obama is less than dog dirt on the shoe of America and he needs to be scrapped off so that we can start getting past the smell of our mistake.
