Here's my solution. It's .30 #2 I still fly .30 #1 also

Helicraft klone head... Beast-X... Savox Sc-1258 servos.
I think it has the power of a 50 without the flybar.
The aluminum collective bar that makes room for the Beast-x can be bought at Heliproz south for 12 dollars. I think it's under "dirt cheap closeouts"

Will keep the thread up to date with the conversion, but may be while before it gets started. Hope to have it done for spring though.

First batch of questions for those who did the conversion already and info for those about to do it.

Q1
The titan SE clutch assembly uses a PV0671 bell while the R30 uses a PV0533 bell. This is because the SE uses a different pinion and a pinion block. Has anybody located an R30 pinion to use with a titan SE clutch bell and pinion block? I believe the R30 uses a 9T while the R50 uses a 10T.

I am assuming that those who did the conversion used the whole R30 clutch stack as opposed to the SE clutch stack.

Q2
Why does the SE use a different one-way clutch shaft than the R30? The one-way bearing part number is the same and the one-way clutch shaft dimensions are the same for both. The only thing I can tell is the main shaft bolt may be different?

Q3
The main rotor grips on an R30 is PV0353 and the SE grips are PV0663. However, comparing the R30 and SE manuals, the grips are the same part parts (BK0596)?

Q4
How about a metal tail rotor gear for an R30?

Mike
Use the R30/50 clutch stack.
You can drill the pulley and OWB shaft to 3.5mm., SE and X50 uses a larger main shaft bolt.
The difference in the Main rotor grips is leading vs. trailing edge. If you use the R30 grips the blade bolts will be upside down.

Don't forget the old 30's had a non driven tail during autos. You're changing the one way, so it shouldn't matter. Just thought I'd mention it.

Time to regenerate this thread. I have now begun the transformation. Took a little longer to get started than expected, but now well underway. I am taking a good raptor 30 v2 with low flight time and adding the Titan SE components to it. The part I am dreading the most, is splitting the frame to add the metal spacers. This will be where most of the work is. Will keep updated.

I'll get some pics uploaded. Done with changing the plastic posts to metal around the main shaft bearings and frame is back together. Gave me a chance to check the bearings out if nothing else. I kept the 30 size clutch stack due to the pinion. Just added up the info in the log book for this heli; have 3.8 gallons thru it and 67 flights.

Here is a pic of the start of the conversion. The donor SE is in the background and the R30 is in the front.

Here is a pic to date. Got the metal frame supports in, the new main shaft bolted up, and the SE head block. Now I am debating on what dampers to put in the head. Will probably use the blue ones because I will keep wooden blades on the heli which wn't allow for the high head speed required for the harder dampers. I have the blue dampers, red dampers, and the outer black/inner red dampers on hand.

Wood blades
Mike, If you're going to keep the headspeed under 1850rpm. I would use the PV0356 Blk. dampers for 6mm. shaft, 60 duro.

Thanks, I'll see if I have a set of them. If not, I'll use the blue ones 70s' which are a little harder.

Nice project, Mike. That SE in the background looks familiar.

Thanks. Yea, it will become a regular r30 air frame possibly. I also salvaged the metal pitch arm / servo tray as a replacement to the plastic one.

Question, anybody fly a raptor 30 without the horizontal stabilizer. I know the Titan SE does not use one, but is it required on a 30 size?

I have used one on the Titan se and on 30 size to balance out the CG,use what it takes to get the perfect balance.

The 30 comes wIth one where the SE does not. Does it matter if the 30 has one or not? Figured there was a reason one came with one and the other did not. Was thinking the longer boom and bigger engine would allow for the need to not have the stabilizer on the 50.

When the R30/50 first came out, The only way to keep the rear of the boom supports up was to use the horizontal fin. You'll be fine with just the vertical fin.

Thanks for the history, that's the info I was looking for. I'll be installing the SE boom support bracket and maybe even the SE vertical stabilizer.
