Between the mcpx and the mcpx 2?

Do I need to spend the extra $30 to get the 2 for just buzzing around

According to the website,
the changes in the V2 kits are:

- Digital 3-Axis AS3X Sensor
- Large Diameter Tail Rotor
- Swashplate Ball Link Dampers
- 1S 200mAh 30C Battery

If it flies as good or better than the first version, you're in for a treat.
I haven't flown a V2, but I can tell you the first version "buzzes around" quite nicely. With the weighted main blades, it's the most stable helicopter I've ever flown.

I have V1, and I told this guy from next door to give it a go, they were indestructible. He destroyed it, so do I get another V1 or splash out on a V2

He destroyed your mCPX? That is terrible. What in the world did he do to it? I've done some BAD things to mine and it just keeps going. I'd buy the V1, stick a couple of the canopy gromets on the ball ends and you are good to go. Do you have any upgraded batteries? My mCPX is night and day between the 200 mah and 300 mah 30c batteries.

I was Spektrum when Spektrum wasn't cool

he flew it hard into the ground, popped the links, pulled the gear off the mainshaft and when I tried to restart it the magic smoke came out so I guess the motor is seized as well. Too much hassle to repair so get a new one. They are great for messing with.

Mine smoked too just for a sec or so and tried it again and its perfect
this is the original bought same day they came out it still has original grips on it I never did the upgrade. Doesn't sound too bad seems like an easy fix but again I haven't seen yours.

GET THE V2!!!

It flys amazingly well as is. If you can spare about 5 mins you can pull the original boom and replace it with a solid carbon 5.5in boom and it really helps the tail lock in.

Other than that the heli is solid out of the box.

Now I will say that I am a 3D guys so I appreciate the reliable locking power of the new gyro system. I think you'll defintally notice a difference between the 2 if you flew both regardless of how you fly it. Go for the good stuff, you do with everything else

Besides, a lot of people say they just want to buzz around with the MCPX V2...next thing you know its being flipped, flopped, and in any other orientation than right side up. Its a real life trainer.

so the new gyro in the V2 is noticeably better than the V1? Can you elaborate abit on the improvement?

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

Tail is easier to control and more reliable.

Cyclic feels much more locked in.

Put it this way I was able to do loop that went under a table and over a heli today and do a 180 degree transition at the top and go back under in the opposite direction.

The V2 is no joke man...its the real deal.

I did a durability demo today also...turned it off 3 times at 100 ft and let it hit unpowered and not a scratch; it flew perfectly after each event.

This is by far my most favorite heli...so much that I have 2. One brushless...called Tom and a stock setup with 5.5in boom...called Fresh. I fly them both like I stole them and power them with Power Edge 300mah packs.

So much fun!!!

Thanks for the reply to my question. I only have a V1 and frankly love it with my one inch solid boom extension ,,but now the V2 ,,,wow! Very interesting that you said the cyclic feels more locked in. How about the V1 one problem of losing trim when doing one cyclic maneuver over and over again and then tends to drift that way? I may have to get one.

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

I dont have that issue with either of mine.

I dont remember feeling that issue on a V1, it may be your board and maybe Horizon will exchange it for you and give you a V2 board.

No harm in asking...

This is my second V1 board and the same thing. It happens say you practise one thing over and over like back flips to inverted ,,then back stick to upright . After awhile twards the end of the pack the trim will change and in this case it will drift backwards. It is pretty well known trait at least of the V1 board. Checked your gallery ,,Nice Vario you got there! I am a gasser guy yoo with 2 Miniature Aircraft Gassers,,a 1005 and a Spectra.

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them
