On the early DJI XP3 autopilot, the manual says you cannot use any receiver channels above 8 for anything else, like tilt, zoom, shutter, etc. Presently I am using another 14 channel receiver channels 8 and above with a 5 volt regulator source from my pack supply for that receiver to work the other functions and that works. Just wondering if anyone tried just one receiver for everything?

DJI also says you need to use a separate voltage supply for the servo's, unlike with my Ace One I can use my pack voltage and a regulator for everything. Has anyone ever tried using just one battery and a regulator for the

I did it for a while prior to upgrading to A-1. DJI said do not do it. I did it without issue, and at times I recal running a custom diode block to interrupt the common ground. I cannot remember the exact details, but it worked for me. Do at your own risk

It was an alternator + battery fed system. But there was one receiver, with the extra channels leading out of the RX to the cam tilt + shutter. I do recall having a power feed with diode(s) to feed the extra servos without placing a load on the DJI. Part of what I recall was that DJI did not want servo loads out of the RX, as the power supply internal to the DJI for the RX was inadequate for that. So: it was fed in a custom manner. It has been a while, so I cannot show pict's or schematics as of now, but I wish you the best.

There were times during diagnosis of issues that DJI advised me to run a separate TX-RX, and I had done so, which never made any difference, Perhaps DJI can advise the more technical concerns that they had? Or they can sell you an A-1, A-1 has been a clean convenient install for me.

Thanks, yes I have an Ace 1 as well, just didn't want to spend the money to upgrade the other one.
