I take it that you guys know about the DFC head problems. Any one care to comment on this? Just wondering if they are going to redo what is on the vendors shelf.

Emails have been sent out by vendors as well as Align to return the screws bolts and the arms and they will send out the upgraded ones.

I installed it and setup the head just before align posted that recall. I took it off and put back on my original head untill the replacement parts come in.
I prefer to play it save alhough I don't think it would of broken.

As far as I know, there's been only one report of boom strike and a lot of fear talk.

I flew someone's T700n with the DFC head and loved the difference. It seems like it robs less power to manuever the heli. Can't wait to get mine.

anytime you bring the spinning mass of the rotor blades closer to the CG you will see an increase in roll and flip rate plus tracking improves, but you will need to keep the blades tight and run a higher head speed so there is no lead lag in loading moves, the key thing is head speed.

Yea I have always had them tight for blade stops. But I can move them if I hold the head and pull the blade. Enought to be able to almost straighten the blades before spinning them up

Dino, we talk about higher headspeed which is easily attainable on an E model. Nitro on the other hand, headspeed is limited by the motor. In a 90 N the sweet spot is at around 1950. Would that speed present a problem?

must posts I have read said 1950 head speed should be fine. there is a video somewhere here of a pro pilot flying 1950 and an OS 105.

No issues.

Key word in your post is "pro pilot." Most do not have that collective management when flying

Scared to try it. Couldn't make myself bolt it on after seeing the thread with the boom strike after a hard full negative move.

Converted both 700N and my 700E to DFC head.
Not a pro pilot by any sense of the word, but we beat the snot out of my #1 700N on Friday last week. Lots of hard rainbows with full -13 collective, and a few inverted pull outs after a long tail slide. Zero issues.
Running the governor at 15,750, so that is about 1850 on the head?
