Ok so working on the build of the 90 SG.
Have put the fan and clutch assy on the Dubro Truspin...and it stops at the same time every time.
So....I remove some fan material on the heavy side...about 5 little scoops with a drill bit.
Now the fan assy balances perfectly.
Why? Because I saw other people doing this and it made sense.
The question is...does it make that much difference?
To the point of causing other issues?
Or is it just to "do things as best as possible"... Because I've been at it for 4 years?

High speed vibrations can accelerate material fatigue, cause problems with bearings, cause fuel foaming leading to lean engine runs, and precession (drift) within the gyro(s) so less vibration is always better.

I have had the Tru spin balancer a few days now.
I was looking at a magnetic one but someone on RR pointed this one out.
Yes it's great ...can Balance the whole tail assembly...the whole rotor mast.
When I'm done with the build on this helicopter...the Kassama will undergo strict scrutiny.
The fan which is aluminium will also go on the balancer and the tail hub and all the rest.
I had some serious vib issues with the Kassama nitro.
To the point that when I would let go of the sticks, the helicopter would immediately tip over to the left.
The vbar was blind.
I tightened the sensor down with straps and a rubber cable tie ....to the point where it could not be tightened any more.
Now the machine works great...but I have doubts in my mind.
Like...there is an unsolved problem which is remedied by compromise on the other end so as to keep the equilibrium.
So if and when all is balanced out and is true...then I can slacken up on the vbar sensor which is literally chocking right now.

Hey barracudahockey...Was in Florida about a year and a half ago.

You have a great country...
I don't know what it's like to live there....but big countries like yours are more stable.
