I have 4 of the 7008 receivers. All will indicate mode A upon entering the programming.

Modtron had it right above. Select mode B and then verify your setting by plugging in a servo to the Sbus port. If the servo doesn't work, then the Sbus us active. The receiver will reset each time you enter the mode change menu so you cannot verify your settings that way

Can you please explain your process(in steps) of changing the mode of the 7008? I actually just changed one of my 7008's to mode b without issues.

Regards,

Marc

This might save someone some time-

Running a vbar fullsize, new to me 14sg with telemetry.

Just installed 2 of these rx in other heli's w/o issue, changed modes easily on those. Now I can't get this one to work in sbus mode. Functions telemetry fine, separate channels fine. No sbus.

I plugged into the vbar, but it was still in separate channel mode. once selected properly in the vbar setup tab /cold-start/ worked perfect.

On my 7008, I never did get the solid green light either.

I first change the setting in my Futaba 14SG to 12 channel, mode B, then powered off.

Then I set the 7008 as per the instructions. When the lamp blinked twice, I pressed the button for 2 seconds or a little more. All the light did was flash. I released the button while flashing. I powered off the 7008.

I powered up my transmitter which is in Mode B, 12 channel, then powered up my 7008. All worked fine and both were bound.

As a test, and after powering everything off, I switched my Futaba Radio back to 14 channel mode, then powered off again. I powered it back on, verified the 14 channel setting, then powered up the 7008 which was on the 12 channel setting. It didn't work, all I viewed was a red flashing lamp, no functions on the radio worked.

I then switched everything off, I reset my Futaba 14SG back to 12 channel, B mode, powered off, then I powered it back on, then powered my 7008.

Green lamp was almost immediate, and all switches were bound and working correctly.

So this proves that the units will not work unless you have both set to the correct modes.

The main item is when you switch your Futaba Radio setting, it ask you if you want to re-assign the channel switches. ANSWER NO. Setting to mode B will reassign the switches, and you do not want to do this. The manual states this, just not in bold print which it should be.

I hope this helps someone in the future.

It didnt work because you need to re-link the RX to the TX after you make a change to the TX transmitting protocol. The RX was still looking for your TX to transmit the FASSTest 12ch protocol and you changed it to FASSTest 14ch protocol. If you had re-linked, everything would have worked just as before.

Just wanted to clarify that for you as you learn the Futaba system.

I just went through this with my Skookum 720BE & 14SG.

I am assuming you have linked the 7008 to the radio.

If you set the 7008 to Mode B as per the instructions. Turn if off. Make sure your Radio is set to the 12 channel setting after powering on. Then power up your 7008.

If the green light comes on, and all ports are operating the servo's, it's set.

If you get a Red light, it's not set.

Some instructions state while setting the 7008 modes, the blinking light should stop after holding the button for a few seconds. Mine never did, but it did change to Mode B. In fact several told me this happened to them as well. Make sure you don't' tell it to redistribute the channels while setting this.

Hope this helps you, Dennis
