Where do your wife/girl friend put the stereotype of flying r/c helis?
Do your wife/girl friend think it is cool that your husband/boy friend flies r/c helis or do they think flying r/c helis is more like a kid's thing, or a big boy's toy?

My wife is never interested in my r/c heli stuff, but she thinks it is cooler than flying kites. lol

My lovely wife doesn't get it. Take a thousand plus dollars, invest hours setting it up, tweaking it, upgrading, rebuilding. Then throw this up into the air....most times it comes home in one piece, others...not so much. But she doesn't give me a hard time. But then I don't understand scrap booking. So we are even I guess.Uh..., yea..., I meant to do that.

My wife not only thinks it is a cool hobby, but she's bought me half of my fleet.

While she has not interest in flying helis, she owns more die cars and slot cars than I do. She also outfishes me on most days too.

My Wife is very tolerant and supportive, but she really has no interest in the hobby herself. She has activities that I don't have much interest in, so it all evens out.

What also helps is our 'Don't ask, Don't tell' policy on the prices...In return I don't ask what purses, shoes, and such cost...

My wife really has no "interest" in r/c helicopters, but she does seem to "get it". She doesn't mind if I fly every weekend, and long as I don't fly both Saturday and Sunday very often. I try to keep that to once a month. Usaully it's those weekends when we have a club meeting, then I can fly both days without her complaining. I go to about four or five funflys a year and she comes with me to the ones that require a hotel stay. She looks at as a mini-vacation or road trip. Basically, she's just very supportive because she knows what this hobby means to me. I could go on and on, because she's awesome!

My wife would rather having me tinkering helis than hanging out in a bar with girls and guys. lol

I am glad that I find this hobby that I truly love. After 5 years into the hobby, I never feel bored with it but instead I like it more and more.

Not too many wives get it..... lol

Mine tolerates it but really complains when I bring my stuff into the house! If it were up to me, there'd be a couple helis and planes on available spaces like plant shelves or on top of display shelves.

At least I warned her ahead of time last night when I brought my 44% CARF Giles into the house! haha

Thank gosh for Angry Birds. My wife has something to do when she goes to the field and starts to get board. Although she loves r/c helis she is still trying to learn to hover on the Sim.Friends don't encourage friends to fly helis! It can cause part shortages.

My wife has been very supportive. She has quit asking how many helicopters or planks I need because I always say just one more. She also supports the fleet of rockets, the boats and trucks and cars I run. There have been a few times she has been miffed. There was the time I glued a plank fuselage to the dinning room table......the glue ran..I swear. Then there was the time it was about 20 below 0 outside and I was working on my MGT 8.0. Well I had messed up the engine and was tinkering with it. I started it in my hobby room and well, she was a bit concerned about the amount of smoke pouring out of the door into the kitchen. Then there was the time I woke her up from a sound sleep when I was flying the Blade 400 in the living room early in the morning. For some reason she was a bit miffed. Oh, she has wondered about the blood I have shed from the props and tail rotor contacts but she quietly gets the medical items. I am getting my sons into the hobby so I am sure it will only get more interesting as time goes on.
She does have that scrapbooking thing she does..I don't know, that acid free...what ever free paper and glue. All I know is a I am eying her Cricut CNC maching for making lettering for my planks. Life is good.
