Taranaki - New Zealand
Well, the meet is not far off now, so I figured I would jot down a few thoughts, rules etc.We will be running 2 flight lines. The main field that has a 250m airstrip will be the main flight line. The second flight line is behind and parallel to this, so as pilots will be back to back there will be no chance of flights crossing. We will be able to run a 3rd flight line if required, but I dont see a need at this stage. As this is a Scale Heli event, the main field will be open to scale helis ONLY from 9am to 3pm. Any non scale copters will be welcome to fly either on the second flight line or outside these times. Flight line control will be pretty relaxed but scalers will have preference over fishheads on all flight lines.Judging will be done over the Saturday and Sunday, with prize giving at 2pm Sunday. Judging for best civilian and best military will be based on a static scale score and a flying score. Best flight and pilots choice will be peer judged. There will be a BBQ lunch both days. There is a public display in New Plymouth center (different field) on the Friday night from 6:30pm till dark. Any flyers that would like to display their models or just come along for a look are welcome. There will be a range of aircraft flown at this display including all types of helicopters. I will be helping run this display so it will be a good place to meet those arriving Friday night. This is part of the festival of the lights so a great draw card for those bringing tha missus! If you guys can think of anything you need or want to ask, feel free to reply here, PM, email, phone or txt me. Will be happy to help.TT50, TT90, Cal5/Airwolf, TT50/Jetranger, Zoom400/H500, Trex600/Apache, SSM UH-1, and more!
