hercules HV 14S HBEC
10S set up.

Once this bec is installed and powered up, the Rx keeps reseting itself. Now, I can hook a durallite 5.1 regulator up to the same set up, and all is fine.
Does this sound like a faulty hbec here?

Did you check the output voltage of the BEC with a volt meter? IMO it's always best to check the output of any device powering expensive servos and other equipment BEFORE plugging it into anything on the heli.

Like cdrking said, check the voltage. I know of one case on RR that the voltage was wrong and the BEC would not reset to another voltage.

I'll check it tonight for sure. But when it is hooked up, the GY701 shows five volts. I'm reading elsewhere of similar issises as well."I just don't Listen" "

It's the HBEC version. Like I said before, as soon as you start working the mechanics, it resests the Rx."I just don't Listen" "

Your title confused me, HV 14S HBEC. HBEC is rated for 10S at 3.3A., No reason for the Rx to reset, I'd send the BEC back.
Edit: Unless You are pulling over 7A.

I'm sending the product back. I just do not trust it. Reverting back to the good ol fashion duralite regulator, with a Rx battery.

Thanks

3.3A is nowhere near to be able to handle todays digital servos, even the 5A will not work.

We have measured transient peaks up to 66A with 4 x 8717 when using a fbl solution.

Hercules superbec works.

You could probably run that bec plus a buffer pack in parallel to make it work.

Nothing wrong with that BEC in the correct application, yours....is not. You need a much larger BEC.......RonTeam MikadoUSA 480XXTreme, 550SX, 600SX, 700XXTreme, 800XXTreme!!

Really, it seems like it has a short inside the unit somewhere. I can mount it solid, and the power stays on, but as soon as the heli is moved in any way, electronicly, or manually, it resets."I just don't Listen" "

I'm guessing he has this one:

Which is not big enough to do the job.
He should have this one:
