Today was great! The 105 flew awesome! No tail wag, no vibes and no dumb thumbing! My buddy Ernie was at the filed and was kind enough to take a few shots.

Only issue was a gust of wind went through the fuse through the missing front doors and blew open the back hatch,,,,,or the pilot bailed out??? More magnets and installing the front doors should correct the issue.

Thanks much,,, still lots to do before color but I can't wait either!

Yep that's Debby's.......or home field for me. All my buddies (pimps) fly there and have given me this heli (crack) addiction. It started off harmless enough,,, just a little 450 but soon I was on to the heavy stuff,,, 50-90s nitro and electric. They got me hooked good! Bas^%$*s!

Who might you be?? Hummm?? RJH from the E-City.

It looks so good Barry!!! It's amazing about the back door because mine did the same thing on my Hughes 500e. Thanks to this forum I got some "amazing Magnets" to keep things in check.

I was so sad not to be there on Sunday but I'm glad you had fun and it flys great...at least I saw it on Saturday .

I can't wait to see the final version...so both of us can fly in formation together with my warbird...

Thanks for the support fellers! I've been working out of town for a few days and left my camera at my fathers home.

The only thing that did not come with this fuse was the rear stabilizers. I Found some on-line that would probably fit this project just fine but they are quite expensive. I figured,,,,,heck I can make those...... I tried Balsa wood but knew the fist hard knock taking the heli out of the truck would most likely do them in. Looked at a few other options but then came up with this idea.

Like many out there I have had a few unscheduled landings which took out my main blades as well as other parts. I started saving mine and nailing them to the walls in my shed,,,,,decoration!

So I thought hey carbon fiber, light and just the right size airfoil shape. Also, should be easy to support with carbon rods and fish my lights through,,,,,,just push through the foam!! Here's some pics.

Awesome idea Barry...you are the man!!! You see now why I love scales because it does take creativity, ingenuity and an artisan approach on scale projects. ."How high do they go? Are those things hard too fly? How much do they cost?

right on. And it's a shame. I'm getting back into plank as well and I wanted to build a 30-50cc airplane. I like building as much as flying. Hmmm, no such thing as kits anymore unless you go to a 40-45% Carden. That's what I like about scale helis. You actually have to show some skill and ingenuity.
Nice idea on the stabs.

Nice idea! I've kept some of my old blades from my Benzins just for this reason. On my Huey and a couple other builds I used cut down rotors as horizontal stabs.

You got my PM w/my number to call me regarding the doors?

just a thought...rather than putting a piece on either side, what about cutting slots in the fuse and making the stab one pass-thru piece, or would that interfere with your tail drive???
