T-REX 700 › 700E Tail Issues Kicking My Tail!!!

I've got a 700E with 3G, running the gain on the GEAR channel (set at 60). I've lowered the gain to 55, and it still "hunts" for center. I checked blade pitch, and one was off at center 3deg, but after fixing it it still hunts. At first I thought it was because the slider was binding, and it got way better after making it smooth...but it still is hunting. Here's whats really weirding me out. If I land and change the gain, then spool back up; the rudder wants to travel to the right (nose left). If I shut off the radio and re set the rx and tx, it will then stay put. I've never had any radio do that! I've also tried programing the gain in the tx (9503) on D/R and auto, still having same issue.
I'm to the point where I'm going to order a BeastX or Vbar and be done with 3G. Any last pointers or ideas would be much helpful before I spend another $300 this week.
Thanks.

I've got another one sitting around here. If anyone thinks swapping it out would help, I'm down. And OldGuy, how is Surrey doing these days? I lived just outside in Bracknell 20 years ago. Doubt Bracknell changed much.

Do you have the software cable...if so you can lower the lock gain on the tail which helps a lot. I would go Beastx myself lol!

I'll try to lower the lock gain. I've never messed with the software, being I bought this used off my buddy. Thanks for the ideas.

Worth trying another servo as I have had several "new" 650's do this wagging thing.
Great when they work but do not assume a new one is ok
Surrey is good I fly at Dunsfold aerodrome

reduce the tail lock gain to 40 and you will be fine. very common problem with the 3G.

I was going to suggest the tail slider. My 700 jerked on the ground and in the air. Tried the V2 tail and KDE links and tail, and nothing could stop the binding on the slider bushing and the shaft.

Finally went to an I2 tail and it immediately stopped the binding and jerking on the ground. Haven't has a chance to fly it yet. As smooth as the tail is, and the distinct lack of jerking on the ground during spinup makes me believe it will be smooth in the air.

The lock gain is too high. i had the same issue. upgrading to V3 will fix that and a few other problems it has. It actually flies pretty good on V3.
