I need to make an adapter so I can use a Zimmerman muffler on my OS 61RFN. It needs to be at least 1/2" thick. What spec of aluminum would be correct for this?
Will probably purchase from McMaster.

The lot I got is not a lot, but I thank God a lot for the lot I got!

6061 will be fine. If you want to go overboard 7075 is available. Probably the best scenario is to save money on the base material by using 6061, then use heli coils in the threads.

Hi bcm,
I think I can get away without having to tap the adapter at all. The two adapter to crankcase bolts will be set in toward the center enough that the Zimmerman muffler bolts will be to the outside of these. I can then just bolt into the Zimmerman. Hopefully!!

RJX make an adaptor to fit a nitro muffler to a Zenoah that may work the other way round.
