I am just curious if anyone has modded a stock rotorhead and
successfully converted to FBL ?

Looking a the arms on the grips it looks similar to the process
of converting the Ely.Q head, just removing the mixer arms and attaching links straight down to the swash. I'm not sure if the grip arms are quite long enough but they're probably close (for sake of conjecture the balls on the outer swash could probably be extended to compensate if need be).

Then it's just a matter of getting a swash driver on there which should be pretty easy.

Obviously the Robbes have very good flybarred heads and don't 'need' to go FBL but I find the idea of mixing something modern with an airframe others consider to be 'old' kinda interesting.

I did, and successfully. I didn't want to modify my flybar head as it was just too beautiful to mess with. I used the RJX 10mm FBL head and converted a great machine to be excellent using modern electronics.

I flew it, enjoyed the success of the challenge, but I'm letting it go now. Take a look. Its super !!
