Well after flying belt for the first 8 months of this helicopter i decided to finally upgrade to the tourqe tube. I always told myself why go TT when its just more exspensive in a crash and more stuff to maintain ect... Well I finally stripped 4 teeth in my belt and thank god i caught it so i decided its time. Now so you know this conversion ONLY comes with the tail case, Gears, TT, and TT case and mounting hardware. No boom, tail shaft, grips, hub or anything else.
As you can see the case is very simple and has aluminum mounts to screw into. No plastic so you get a good hold!!
After install the gear mesh is perfect and smooth.
QUICK TIP: When inserting boom make sure to hold the umbrella gear when pushing boom to keep the proper mesh.
Above the finished tail casing. The tail case comes totally loctite so you will need to remove the one side to install the shaft. If you look close on the tail shaft gear i have installed some shrink wrap to keep the pin in place. Overall the install took about 45mins and thats with belt removal. There is basically zero drag. When landing and motor is cut i would have to stand there for a half hour to let the blades stop lol. Anyway if you are still running belt you may want to check out the TT conversion its a plus. Im very happy with it.
