I am currently using 2100mah hyperion LiFe for the 50 size nitro. Do I need a bigger LiFe back for the 90 size due to the more demand on the cyclic servos assuming the number of flights and the electronics are the same between the 50 and 90 size?

It all depends on how long you want to fly for. If you get yourself a 2s 5000mAh pack, you can fly all day. But I recommend you choose the flight pack based on whatever makes the helicopter balance best. Select weight and this will dictate capacity.

I don't know how long the LiFi battery will last - but typically, in batteries, Amps is Amps.

I have flown my Raptor 90 with both 3s & 2s LiPo batteries using a switching regulator. Both packs are 2200mAh.

Using the active regulator, the 3s pack gave me 7 or 8 flight before it got down to around 30%. The 2s pack got 4 or 5.

As you say: the load is the variable. If the electronics are the same, then it really depends on the flying style.

I use Align DS610 (elev & ail), JR DS8717 (collective), Align DS650 + GV-1 (throttle) & Quark + DS650 (TR) running from an Spektrum AR7100R.

I recently bought a Perfect Regulators Spekline linear regulator - max input is 2s LiPo - so I will see if I get the same number of flights on the 2s 2200 pack as the switching reg.

2+ years flying my Trex-700 with a LiFe 3000MAH pack. I can get 5-6 flights and still putting in less than 2000MAH. Running Align 610's on swash and Hitec 6965 on tail, std on throttle. It's flybar'd - I'd feel really comfortable flying that same setup FBL just fewer flights between charges.

No regulator to burn electricity in my setup.

Use of LiFe packs also depends on what servos/FBL controller(if FBL) you are using.
Currently, I am running a 2100mAh LiFe pack with all Futaba HV servos. With the latest software update on the CGY-750 my current consumption is suprisingly low. I am only using about 100mAh per 4 minute flight. I have verified this over several sets of flights and after talking with Futaba, this seems to be pretty normal.

I use the Fromeco 2300mAh packs on all my helicopters (50 and 90, flybar and flybarless). Each flight consumes about 350mAh. So, leaving 20% reserve, I usually fly 5 flights then recharge. At 5A charge rate (about 5C), it doesn't take long at all.

I use Hyperion life 2100 MAH on my blitz with BLS451 and every flight is about 370 to 400 MAH on a flybar machine. No regulator

helipulse:Are you running straight LiFe or regulated?
I am using LiFe with BLS255HV servos on a FBL model (CGY-750) and only using about 50 mAH/minute of flight time. Seems as if the HV servos really help out in this matter, and I have tested this over 15 4 minute flights already, keeping close track each time.

I am using it straight. No regulator. I have Spartan, JR8900G on a regulator to 5.2V, 4 BLS451 and switch Glo.
