Does the Spektrum back plate sensor need any mods to work with the V Bar?

Absolutely not... the device works almost with any sensor out there.

Thinking about giving the V Bar gov a try.

Might have an AR7100R for cheap w/o the sensor or satellites.
What would it be worth like that?

$65 shipped?

On my 700N my back plate sensor is a direct plug in...
No re-wiring needed for the V-Bar!
Governor mode works great on the Nitro..

Definatley try it out. Other than an anoying lean spot it creates for me it works very well.

As far as wiring I have mine plugged directly into the sensor port. If yours is acting up or you get alot of errors, the suggested fix is to take power of the other side of the V-bar for the sensor.

You may also want to consider running 5.1. Have read a few threads were nitro users were experiencing gov issues with 5.2.

This is all with the regular three pin servo plug type sensor?

Yes. I am running one "OEM" Spektrum sensor and one aftermarket unit that came assembled with an aluminum bracket.

I was gonna just split my lead and run the power leg over to the other side of the V-bar but I tried it off the sensor port and have had no need.

The problems may occur because the sensor side of the V-bar is a lower voltage (3.something?) than the servo side.

Thanks all.

I will give the V Bar a shot.

I am a big fan of the BeastX and have had several of them with good results but an all in one set up will be nice.

I currently use a Spektrum AR7100R RX and BeastX.
Actually, that was on the last heli I sold.

Right now I have NOBAR and an AR7100R.

re
The Spectrum Back plate sensor works very well with the V-bar governor. You may need to run a voltage wire from
Another opened V-bar port to power the Back plate sensor if it has trouble reading. They are designed to run at 6V and the V-bar governor sensor connection is rated at 3.3 volts. I has Sean some people have trouble with this.

The Back plate sensor makes for much smother spool ups as well. the magnetic sensors often have a slight lag in response time because the clutch needs to engage before it will read any rmps. If the lag is long enough, he V-bar will increase the throttle faster an make the heli spool up way to fast.
