Grounding makes sense most industrial devices have grounding for moving parts etc.

Somehow, I knew that I would end up tallying the total myself.

I find it interesting that in the short life span of your poll, results are 3 to 1 in favor of not grounding.

I grounded one out of 3 Logos, 1 500SE and 2 600SE (one of these needed to be grounded, acting weird in flight, perfect after grounding)

Now neither of my Synergy E6 or E7 are grounded.

Also seems to be more radio equipment specific, I've been told that JR and Spektrum are more prone to static.

Team Synergy, Rail blades, Team Scorpion, V-Team

Lets be careful. I just want to collect data without causing any brand war.

Flown Grounded: 19
Flown Stock: 77

Please do you own addition, if you think you can add your numbers to above number. If not sure about addition skill, I can do them for you.

Please only add current helis to reflect what is being flown.

---edit---
Grounded the Protos(425) due to tail twitch.
Grounded the first Logo600 (603) due to tail twitch once the air got low humidity.
Grounded the second Logo (same setup) as precautionary.

If you are grounding, it would be helpful if you can note (edit your post), if it was preemptive/precautionary or due to known/unknown problems from the stock state.

only grounded belted heli of 4 owned was a trex 500

had 2 crashes from brownout in 3 flights. heli just fell from the sky even with quickconnect on spektrum.

grounded the tail and never had another issue for 50+ flights (until i upgraded to TT and the ground became moot)

the reason i attributed was the belt/boom acted like a van de graaff generator; building up charge until it zapped the RX, which was located very close to the front tailbox. the width of the belt in relation to the diameter of the boom. in my 600 belted, the belt was roughly the same width, but the boom edges were further away. in my 450SEV2 and 250 the booms were much smaller, but the belt width was proportionally smaller as well.

well, that's my take on it. the long and short of it was the 500 needed it and the others didn't, for whatever reason.

if it ain't broke, break it.

grounding
My groundings were due to precautionary mesures, I have never experience static brown-out or twitch issues.

Grounded everything belt driven so 20+. Even flying Futaba FAAST I "HAVE" encountered static problems. IMO it is necessary and good insurance to ground a belt driven heli period, any size any brand heli/tx period.

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

Cuda & OICU

You guys are making it hard for me to tally up the count.

Exactly how many helis do you own now that are belted and grounded or ungrounded?

I know it is a monumental task of adding your current belted helis to the count. So I offered to do the addition for you. But, you must at least state what you own now as I do not care how many you have gone through the past 20+ years. Also just state that you had problems but do not list brands other than heli itself (that means nothing that starts with F or S etc). Take your brand war elsewhere.

This is from gologo and added naked

You are still making me do the addition.
I know it is a difficult task to get it right. So, I'll add it for you.

Were they preemtive/precautionary or due to problems of sort?
Which heli?

It is worse than pulling teeth, trying to collect some data.

But, we did pretty good (so far) without getting into a brand war.

Unless I missed somewhere, so far, there are 5 out of 24 were grounded due to problems adn the other 19 were preemptive groundings.

Keep the data coming guys.
