What are the longest blades I can safely get away with on my Trex 600? The reason I ask is that I have a set of Rotortech 620mm blades, but I wonder if they will have interference problems with the tail rotor. I'd probably slow down my head speed a little to not cause the motor to work too hard, but other than that, has anyone had any experience with long blades on a 600?

I have used 620mm blades on a trex 600 for dozens of flights and never had an issue. They will be fine.

Shouldn't this be pretty simple to figure out?

Rotate the main shaft until one main & one TR blade are "pointed at each other".
Then measure from the main blade bolt to the tip of the TR blade.
Whatever the gap is, that is the max blade size that will physically fit on the heli without interference.

In your example, if the gap is less than 620mm, you are going to be in trouble at some point.

I've used 620 blades on my scale t600s for years with no problems.

It's easy to find an excuse to do wrong. Hard is not to find an excuse to do right.

Ticedoff, yes - I get the whole common sense thing. The reason I asked is that there is no "620mm gap."

I think the blades I thought were 620s are actually longer than that, so I'll hold off on flying them for now. If I was at home, I'd just measure them, but I'm traveling so I thought I'd check here.

I know some blades are measured from bolt hole to tip and some are actual entire length. I have never measured which mine were. I dont have them anymore. They were vblade tst 620mm...a very stiff blade that did not flex much!
