Would be interested in hearing the expereiences of those who have tried (or using) the 3gx on non- align helis, and what firmware version they have tried. I am attempting to use the 3GX, Leon Luke/1.2 on an HV7. The heli does not seem to like it much. I have a feeling I will be down grading to a previous version.

If I understand this correctly leons settings he posted were for 1.2beta not the released 1.2 by Align the gains settings are different. He will post updated settings when he has a chance, in the mean time I already upgraded went with the stock expert settings and just adjusted bell and hiller to my smack 3D flying style with great success.
Try that and see if it makes any difference.

TICK is correct the bell hiller plays a big part and imo is the most important part of programming how the heli flys. Im flying 3gx v1.2 leons settings on my ElyQ v50cxe its flawless. Those settings by leon are just guidelines there not set in stone they are for his heli not all. Theres so many things that are different from his heli to the next. You need to take his settings and tune them to your liking and setup. If you need anything let me know i know leon just ask

Soooooo
Tried the tamed down settings, normal mode for a 700. And the HV7 dumped over again on spool up. This is a new 3GX (I set up two, the other functions flawlessly with 1.2,) it has now taken out 2 sets of blades. The setup/calibration goes as it should (or at least it fools me good enough to feel safe enough to try a maiden.) The HV7 offers the FBL plat to the rear of the frame, above the tai case (as the log does...) My 700 is mount up front, on the nose piece, ala the align birds. Any thoughts of frequency/vibrations above the tensioner pulleys creating to much love out of the 3gx???? Running stock pad. don't feel like trying another set of blades with a thicker pad... so, pretty open for suggestions. BTW, the gain pots were back to 12.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. When i was flying the regular 3g i had problems with it tipping over i coulndt even spool up. The cure was to strap it. Now you shouldnt have to with the 3gx but you might. Im assuming your using the stock tape. Try using the redbacked tape. It works great its alot harder mounting. Im running 2 layers of it and i have no problems. Im willing to bet thats what it is... Keep me posted. O yea the red backed tape is at home depot, lowes, or any hardware store. I would hanstly try that

Be careful with the red-backed 3M tape. It changes density with huge swings in temperature. We found this out going to fun flys in Florida during the winter months. All of the flybarless settings needed to be adjusted. Just try wiggling the FBL unit at home and feel how loose it is, then go out in winter weather and feel how stiff it gets. It has something to do with the material that tape is made of.
