Try castle creation governor mode, not bad.
It works. Bail out is awesome.

Gov gain = 7
Bail out = 10
2250hs
2350hs

It's funny that the HV80 won't let you set a head speed of what ALIGN designed the heli for. I get yellow at 2300 amd blood red over 2350 I think. Also I haven't tried it yet but is it possible to just run throttle cuves and still use the auto bail out? Or do you have to run gov mode?

integy2, do you like your headspeed change rate at 10? I am running 15 on my 550, anything lower than that I felt was a bit slow. I haven't tried it on the 600 yet other than on the bench.

I get used to vbar 5.2 bail out, little slower than CC.
10 is just about the same as 5.2vbar.

May b the size of the bird also.
My Mini Portos is 22gain and 17bail out.

Yes I do run gov. to get bail out from cc. (ignore the red)

Hi guys

Ok I've been reading through with interest from the start
And been reading where some guys say use the inner servo arm holes and some say use the outer holes
Yes know one has said what's right or wrong and does it work ok in the outer hoes as to me it would push the resolution down buy moving the balls out??

And to make matters worse I brought 2 kits both at the same time and both 600EFL kits
But
One manual says use inner servos arm holes Inc the A arm etc
The other manual says use the outer holes Inc the A arm etc hmmm
What do I go with running the 3GX

Many thanks

Max

Newbie BEC Question...
I am building the TRex 600 EFL Pro. It has a ESC and a BEC, as you already know. I've never had a BEC before (only ESC) and I thought BEC's were just for Nitro/Gas helis. Can someone give me a "quickie" answer as to why the TRex 600efl has both?

One way would be to run a seperate batt for the electronics, the other would be to use the main batts as your power source and if your esc bites the big one, you still have power to your electronics so you have a chance to auto in.

Newbie BEC Q:
Thank you! I re-read the manual and discovered that the castle Ice HV does NOT have a built in BEC. Therefore, a separate BEC is needed to step-down to servo voltage. Got it.

I have switched to the inner holes and get much better resolution and geometry with the BeastX. No binding, and in fact the servo rods have better clearance. For you BeastX guys, I had "Purple" and 6 with the outer holes in step "J". After the switch to the inner holes, I get Blue at 6.1 degrees. I backed it off to "Red" at exactly 6, but it's really close now. Don't forget to also switch the elevator servo to inner to avoid unwanted interactions.

RX to 3GX to servos
Is anyone running a Spektrum DSMX Sat to the AR8000 RX, then jumper to the 3Gx, then 3Gx to the servos (standard setup)? I'd like to wire it this way. Just curious if anyone is having luck with that setup?

HeliGriff, that setup works fine and has the advantage of supporting dsmx. 3gx with sats currently only supports dsm2

RX to 3GX
Thank you for the reply, OnTheSnap!

I thought it was the best way to go, for me. After sifting through a hundred photos & blogs, I couldn't find anyone installing Spektrum RX's, just the Sats. Good to know it works!

I put the first two flights on my 600EFL Pro last night. I was taking it easy since the packs were new. Other than kicking up the tail gain, it flew beautifully. I can't comment yet on any hard stuff yet but the 3GX felt locked in and solid. I am going to get two more flights on it this afternoon and then it is time to box it up and ship it to the Orlando blowout!

Help please.

Building a 600ELF with flybarless 3GX full kit from Align with a CC ICE HV 80 as an ESC. Using a Futaba 10TX. With the CC ESC it states that the throttle (ch3) must be reversed when using a Futaba system. I cannot get the 3 head servos to work together to give me collective no matter what I do. With the throttle on (norm) it will do as I require with it reversed NO WAY. Anyone using the same combination as above please tell this idiot how to put it right Thanks

600pro with CGY-750 is a nice combo!
Just need some decent C rated batteries. I would think anything 45C or better would give good performance.
I have some 30-40c turnigy's that are lacking some when pushed hard.

Oldie1,
I thought someone else would answer but no one has so I'll take a guess. I have set up a few buddies helis with 8FGs. depending on the rx you are using, the channel mapping may be different. On some setups, throttle is not channel 3. I can't recall the exact mapping but some setups channel 1 is aileron, channel 2 is elevator channel 3 is pitch and 4 is rudder. I am not sure where the throttle channel falls.
I think you can pull up the monitor screen and watch which channels are moving when you move the throttle stick. They may even be labeled on the monitor screen.
Since you can get it all to work with channel 3 not reversed but no way to get the swash moving correctly when reversed, I am guessing you have this channel mapping set in your tx.
Maybe you should do a little research on the subject and verify which RX uses which mapping scheme and what your TX needs to be set to.
I have never messed with a Futaba 10 radio so not sure if it has similar channel mappings options like the 8FGS.

Good Luck, Matt

One thing I was rather surprised at was how heavy this 600EFL is. Mine finished out at 8lb 11OZ. That is well over a full pound heavier than any 600 sized heli I have ever built. Even with a full fuel tanks, none have been heavier than 8lb 5oz.!

I have noticed the weight difference as well. Carrying both the electric and nitro the electric is noticeably heaver. This is with full fuel with a small header tank and a 3K mah flight pack. The pro has 3300s and a small 1800 flight pack.

I haven't weighed them, but you can feel the difference. Of course autos are different, the nitro has more float while the electric is coming down faster.

Here is some pics of my 600pro with 750 installed.
