Tine...
How well does the 3GX work with the vibes ?
Can you share a pic or two.... Post or PM me...
I ask because in working on a HWC trex 600G conversion and have a New 3GX I would like to use. Will also be using gv-1 and Stator Gator.

I would love a Vbar .....

Thanks...

In a quest to find the best FBL unit for my gasser, I have used Vbar, BeastX, Skookum and latest is the Helicommand HC3X. My heli does suffer from some excess vibes that hopefully should be cleared up this winter (new engine, a long story). The Skookum right now is still the winner for flight performance and handling vibration, but the vibes rendered the SL useless on the heli. I have not had a chance to fully sort out the HC3X and is showing promise in all but very quick repeated cyclic maneuvers, the SL is working, which is a good sign and the goal of this unit.

The Vbar and SK720 governor both worked, but neither as good as a GV-1. The Vbar freaked out with high vibration (crashing) that the SK720 handled much better. If you have a smooth gasser, you would get away with a Vbar, it is just not as vibe resistant.

I had to experiment with mounting/vibration damping with the SK720. The vibration analysis was very helpful in determining the ideal set-up which is a steel plate directly attached to the bottom of the unit, stuck to the heli with the Zeal gel and tightly strapped with a zip tie covered with silicon tubing where it contacts the SK. This is also what was used with the Vbar.

I had high hopes for the BeastX and I have seen it work on a gasser, but on mine, it had a very funny cyclic feel. I still run BeastX on a T600n, T500 and T450, so I am very familiar with it and was happy to pull it from the gasser and use it elsewhere.

From what I have seen at our flying field, I would stay away from a 3GX on a gasser. Some have them flying great on different N and E Helis and some still have a funny feel to them, a gasser would only make it worse. Not that it might not work, but it may easily fail too.

Only based on my experience with 4 FBL controllers, the two I will still fly on a gasser is the HC3X and the Skookum, the other units worked, but not as good as these have.

I helped setting up a vbar on my buddies ma gasser and it worked flawlessly, you should really get rid of the vibes anyway which will just make you crazy fixing the heli all the time.

Got to talk to the engine builder on that one, paid good money for an engine that shakes just as much as a stock engine.

Check fan runout and balance could be in there. Same happened on my buddies and the fan was way off.

We use zeal tape and a futaba metal plate on his setup as well

I have 100's of hours into trying to get it smoothed out, runout is at .001". Suspect crank balance factor is off.

Beastx and 3gx works great on my G20 and G30 gassers, but they are smooth as silk.
