This issue just started a few days ago, I have a Vario Bell 412 with the PHT3-3, it would start without a problem but when I would give it pitch it would bog down, I contacted Jetcat and was told that my fueling install was incorrect, after that was corrected I was able to hover it perfectly, but today when I attempted to fly it once again it bogged and wouldn't reach RPM and infect lost RPM when pitch was introduced.

Now when it starts it goes up to approximately 54K RPM but doesn't go down to idle. I changed the fuel pump and batteries but the problem remains.

I learned the ECU to the radio 3 times just in case it had lost the program but to no avail

Any thoughts on what the issue might be?

I do not have a definative answer to your problem
I would try another ECU, (easy when you have a spare)
Question what is your battery, NmHi or lithium?
Have you changed from one to the other?
Have you checked the aluminium fuel filter, if you can not open it, run a bypass for one start

Does it have a FOD guard ?
If so is it caked in dirt or as it is known turbine bogies, as this can mess up the amount air the turbine is able to suck in and choke it.

EDIT
Are you able to do a data download and post the results up here ? as from that data you could tell if it is a fuel problem or something more cynical.

I'm using 7.4 Lipo's which came with the unit. I'm sensing that it might be the RPM sensor is faulty.

It is a new unit, perhaps 8-9 months. it has the FOD screen.

Filters are clean.

I also checked the fuel voltage and it's within range 1.0-1.3 at start up.

Peter, if there is an Obstruction in the fuel system you would think it would starv for fuel and not Idle up at all. in my case it is ramping up fine but never drops to Idle RPM.

Also, I took the fuel line off the Festo and primed the pump to see is it might be a venting issue, it primed/pumped fine.

next step is to remove the unit and send it back to Jetcat.

When I get the results back from J.C. I will post their findings to share the the Info with the Forum.

Philb, I am located in the US, do you mean contact Modtron for his thoughts on my issue or for him to service the Unit? I don't understand.

First thing required to do, will be a data download.

Only then will you be able to see what the engine is doing second by second.

The software to do this is available from JetCat's website...

http://www.jetcat.de/service/download.htm

but you will need the adaptor to link into the ECU.

Very difficult to diagnose without seeing or running the engine personally.

Seeing your location, I would have a chat with Bob Wilcox (JetCat USA) and see what he suggests, but do remember he's not that keen on doing heli turbine fixes as they generally require more time compared to thrust engine.
