I have 2 1/2 Robbe Eolo Spirit helicopters which have been kicking around in my garage for years. They were the ones Robbe sold before they became the Trex 450 vendors in Europe. I also have a very large box of parts for them. The 2 are flying and the 1/2 just needs putting back together.

They are wimps by todays standards, really only good for learning to hover and fly around and so are virtually unsaleable, but they are too good to throw out.

I dont want anything for them and would be happy to give them to someone who would appreciate them as a learning tool on his way to bigger and better things.

Anyone got any good ideas what to do with them?

I sure do! Do you go too alot of funflys? Does you club hold funflys? Donate them to a clu that has alot of funflys set them up with a trainiing gear an tether the 4 conrers of the gear so that in no way can the heli get damaged and use it as a seminar/hovering try for spectators at funflys.

Friends don't encourage friends to fly helis! It can cause part shortages.

Peter,

what about a local school or youth centre? Would be a good introduction for the younger generation, walking before they start running.

Just a thought.

Hey Pete, I would be glad to try and make em fly ! I have a long history of flying outdated P.O.S heli's just to see if they will

Shoot me a P.M.

It may end up being a frustrating experience for a youngster with little experience fartin around with these heli's. I promise to give them a Good home.

Peter -

Perfect for teaching my two grandsons how to fly and, more importantly, how to repair helicopters. Need some company in heli flying after my move to the sticks from the Bay Area.

Put them into scale fuselages. You'll have a ball doing that and then flying scale like.

Did this to all my old non 3D worthy mechanics. It's an awesome tribute to retire helis in this way.

Thanks for the ideas guys, I have 2 I will follow up on, the first being Walter Reed. If that doesn't work out, I will donate them to a club. My club is not very heli oriented and I already have a request from someone who thinks his club will benefit from them so that's where they will go.

I heartily endorse the suggestion to send them to Walter Reed. If you can make them as complete as possible, so much the better (servos, escs, batteries, chargers).

Thats a good idea. I have some chargers I dont use any more and I could spring for new batteries as the originals must be pretty tired by now. The only thing I dont have to give away is transmitters.

I'll have to look in the bottomless junk box and see if I have one or two old 72MHz ones. There might be a DX7 lurking in there as well somewhere

I may have an old 72 Xmitter. I will look today and if so, I can send it to you if you are willing to include it in the package.
